And that's just it, it is hard enough for families to pay to go to matches these days and why do we go hopefully to see our team win. Not to throw money down the drain after listening to false promises so when the board says we are going for promotion with a so called competitive budget we pay for our season tickets on the back of that promise. I seriously hope I am wrong but I can see no sign of a competitive budget so far.

Speak for yourself.
I don't buy my season ticket on that basis, I buy it because I support Doncaster Rovers.

Ok folks, seeing as I'm in the bad books after coming on here the other night p*ssed up and spouting b*llocks, I'm going to attempt to redeem myself by posting something positive.

I believe GM will be absolutely pragmatic about the kind of football he wants us to play, which will be very attacking with lots of pace. Up to now, his 3 recruitments, if we include Taylor, fit into exactly that mode. The defence, if we include young Blaney, is now covered in every position; 2 right backs, 4 centre backs, and 2 left backs.

The only concern I have is midfield, where we seem to be maybe a couple of players short; sort this out and we'll be fine.

The maths around this isn't hard:

£50k per week on squad wages (as per last year)
Those who've departed collectively account for £10k per week
Those who come in account for £6-8k per week (3-4 players)
The remainder of the squad account for, say, a £2k per week uplift (5%)
Plus a bit of slack to pick up 1-2 loanees

So I don't think anyone's being diddled here. There's no great conspiracy, just a requirement for GM to spend his money wisely.

Can I ask you a question Big H are those figures
Hypothetical or what you understand has the real wage figures from last season.
An educated guess Steve

Ok H just thought the overall figure in reality would be higher so if a guess just has an example I understand.
