Andone at Brighton (the only romanian in BPL)
« on May 25, 2018, 06:03:35 pm by DevilMayCry »
It's official, Florin Andone will play for Brighton & Hove in the next season. He will be the only romanian to play in the next season of Premier League.

https://www.brightonandhovealbion.com/news/2018/may/albion-sign-andone/

To be honest, and unfortunately, I don't think he is at Premier League level. I saw him playing for Romania national team and Deportivo....he runs a lot, has stamina, fights for every ball but that's it, he misses a lot, his positioning is bad, and I don't see him playing in many matches in the next season.

But who knows, maybe he will surprise us all.

Dan Petrescu played in the premier league some years ago. He played for Bradford City in their second season there after leaving Chelsea I think.

I think he means right now idler. Wasn’t he a Wednesday player as well?

Yes, but Petrescu proved as a great player when he signed for Sheffield Wednesday after our historic WC 1994, when we beat Argentina and lost at penalties against Sweden in QF.

Yes, I mean in this moment. In the past we had Gheorghe Popescu/Vlad Chiriches at Tottenham, Ilie Dumitrescu at Tottenham and West Ham, Florin Raducioiu/Razvan Rat at West Ham, Dan Petrescu/Mutu at Chelsea and other players...I don't forgot about ex Doncaster Rovers player, Gabriel Tamas at West Brom.

On the loose subject of Romanian football, I've watched Steaua Bucharest (or FCSB to be politically correct) twice this season and they have a guy upfront called Harlem Gnohere who is an absolute unit of a target man.

He's about 30, which is a shame, because he's good enough to play over here and I suspect he'd get a move if he was a couple of years younger.

An absolute bulldozer type frontman who'd batter your granny to get on the end of a cross.
Yes, he's a very good strikler but he will leave them in this summer. Their owner (Gigi Becali) wants to sell him for 2-3 mil euros (FCSB payed only 250k for Gnohere).

I think he would have been a fantastic signing for Rovers.

I must be getting old. I didn't realise that there had been that many.
I enjoyed watching Tamas in his short stay with us.

Now Tamas plays in Israel and won the Israel Cup...Would have liked to see him again in Rovers shirt  :)

Didn’t Dan have a thing with Rolf Harris

He tried to get Sheff Wed to sign his Rumanian mate Mick Angarou, but they couldn't tie him down.

That's not a romanian name, never heard of Mick Angarou  At Sheff Wed played also another romanian, Sergiu Bus, but only for a half a season.

Rovers should look at Adrian Popa (now at Reading), he is a right midfielder, has some speed and stamina. I know that he didn't played much for Reading, but at FCSB (ex Steaua) he played very good (even in Europa League and Champions League), played and scored a few goals for Romanian national team.

Look on YouTube for Tie my kangaroo down sport and it might make sense.
It does indicate the age of BB though.

I'd be surprised if Tie Me Kangaroo Down isn't banned. Not only non-PC but sung by the now-infamous Rolf Harris.

It's on YouTube with Rolf Harris singing it but just pictures of Australian people and scenes. I just checked in a quiet moment. Only did the first twenty or so seconds.
