He obviously didn't think much of his loan at Forest then!

Is there a link to that? Although it doesn't surprise me the way we messed about with offering him a contract. Should have been sorted at the same time as Andy Butler.

I would like to know where  the offers came from, after him stating travel to Doncaster from home got him down at times.
I had a discussion with a mate about this, we could only see Hull, Leeds, or Sunderland within distance who would be better than us, and unlikely to be interested.
After that you are looking at Oldham, Rochdale, etc. and a commute on the M62, Grimsby, Lincoln and longer commutes, or Carlisle which in the winter is a terrible journey.
We didn't see much sense in him leaving, Sunderland for divisional experience, or a player manager position at York or Hartlepool, being the only real problems if offered, which were unlikely.

All the more reason to be happy with the weekend announcement then! It'd be a travesty if he ended his professional career anywhere but here.

Isn’t his agent Sean McDaid?

He’s not done too badly for himself to be fair after that tackle against Accrington destroyed his career!

Item on DROS now: Ferguson saying he can continue to play a significant role. Talks about him learning from the coaching staff, a hint he might move more into coaching with us?

He lives up in the North East. Somewhere near Middlesbrough.

Interesting comment in the Free Press that he had never had to wait this long to renew his contract.

The club probably couldn't track him down to which old folks home he was holidaying in.
