Do I need an Auto electrician?

My Ford CMax has an intermittent fault. Message comes up that ‘rear passenger door is open’ even though it isn’t. Then when the car is locked the alarm keeps going off.
Does anyone know what causes this? Do I need to take to an auto electrician? If so any recommendations?

Sounds like either faulty door lock or the wiring from the b pillar to the door has got a break in it

Ok thanks for that. I’m going to try Hounds mate tomorrow. Although at the moment it’s intermittent it’s a real pain as I can’t turn the alarm off. Thought it might be something simple like a fuse that can be removed to temporarily turn the alarm off....but apparantley it’s not!

If you lock the door on the key manually rather than the fob button it may not set the alarm I know some cars are set up to do that

Worth a try give you a full nights sleep and saves your neighbours getting pissed off even though it’s not your fault

Also check the door closed sensor near the hinge. Usually just a pin that pushes in as the door closes. Make sure it pushes in and springs out again smoothly. I had a car doing similar to yours and it was this causing it. A squirt of WD40 and some vigorous pushing in and out sorted it.
