I recall the MTO event in January when Grant said "you might all think im mad but i still believe we can make the play offs" He wasnt prompted either to say that.
Personally i thought he was talking complete bollox when he said that.
I was wrong. Very wrong.
The man is a genius.

This was in the context of having just lost 3-1 at Harrogate - us 19th in the league, just 8 wins all season and looking over our shoulder.
He saw something in these players that many, including myself, did not. He also made some excellent additions in January who have taken us to another level.
The way he's turned this team around is unlike anything I've ever seen. Just remarkable.

At the MTO, I distinctly remember TB saying it would be great if we could finish above Harrogate this season (we were miles behind them at that point). Even he didn’t expect what has happened since!

Guilty … I’m ashamed to admit I thought he was over playing his hand and had perhaps even lost the dressing room a few weeks ago

I remember when Matty Craig signed and he was talking about the play offs. I assumed the signing would fall through on account of him failing a drugs test after that. How wrong I was - it's clear McCann always believed and instilled that belief into the players.

Absolutely correct, players come & go no matter what club but keeping Grant is key, hopefully Terry will back him further especially with what he's seen in recent weeks with fans turning up to back the team.

He's said in his interview that he wanted to celebrate last night after the match with the fans but the ref said no.
I mean ffs - how can the official get it so wrong so often.
Don't get me going on the Barrow fiasco.

I believe that Grant believed it, he went 14 unbeaten with Hull including 11 wins on the spin. Plus it's league two, 4 teams go up with play-off places down to seventh, it's not that uncommon for teams to sneak into the promotion places with late runs, it's just it's not happened to us in recent memory and we tend to not take as much notice when it's someone else. Just like it's not that rare for teams to go on long winning runs, Stockport won 11 straight earlier this season.
And to back up my observations and belief I put my money were my mouth is and backed us at 150/1 to go up, and betting is something I very rarely do.
My thinking? Can we go up? Of course! Will we? Not sure, but if the players believe that we can, keep taking each game as it comes, don't over celebrate at reaching the play-offs, assuming we do, instead focussing on the next game then we've got a hell of a chance!
