Just love this lad, he has been the bast signing weve made in the last 3-4 years!

Future Captain -100%
-
He's a proper player.
-
Player of the season, top lad and future captain. Though Ironside probably gets it as strikers get the glory when goals are scored.
-
Having met his Dad and Grandad who were stood with me at the Grimsby match, it's now no surprise to me he's such a level headed young man, they are two great blokes, really down to earth Geordies who love their football, and now Rovers. When Owen hit the bar at end of first half I thought his Grandad was about to explode !!

Was my MOTM yesterday just ahead of TLT and Anderson, superb all game, improving a lot in the midfield aswell.
Definitely a future captain for us and will be a lot of ppls player of the season although Ironside is ahead of him for me.

If Wood decides to retire at the end of the season or we decide not to renew his contract Bailey will be the captain next season.

It will be Anderson or possibly a new signing. I don’t think Bailey will be captain yet.

100% won't be Anderson, as much as he is playing regular now.

I don't get the rush to heap pressure on him, just let the lad play.

He’s a natural leader though. And he’s 25 - not a young lad.
-
At one stage, on Saturday, when there was a break in play, he went across to GM and it looked as though he was explaining, to GM, some tactical awareness that he had noticed. Certainly a star of the future.

For anyone who hasn't seen it, below is a link to the documentary which was made a couple of years ago featuring Owen's fightback from rejection by Newcastle Utd and his recovery from serious injury.
It's a lovely insight into what a grounded young individual he is, and what a supportive family he has.
Having suffered this experience, you can imagine how he is loving every minute of his time with Rovers now.

It is a crying shame that more footballers don’t seem to share Owen Bailey’s commitment and determination. That’s the spirit that shot us up the leagues on our return from the wilderness years.
It can be infectious having one or two like that in the team.

Great to watch that.
I thought Owen was 23 yrs old not 25. Must be his youngish looking face.

Really good watch that. Top lad & a top player with a fantastic attitude. Probably a great move for him to come to our club, & we are lucky to have him.
