Surely you put a player that is technically good on penalties. I know JM has been prolific this season but I wouldn't have him down as a penalty expert.

Definitely not Coppinger. I'd have Rowe on them probably or possibly Grant.

From the clip I've just seen, Marquis went for the right corner this time and the keeper guessed right.

There are players who take penalties and penalty takers. Unfortunately for us, Mandeville is the only natural taker we have.

There's no coincidence keepers can't seem to read Mandeville's penalties.

I'd say Mandy is the best penalty taker as well Baz.

I would agree because every one is different but how would you accommodate him in the team just now

He sends them the wrong way. Keepers font guess. They do their homework. They can also get an idea where the pen is going by the run up, body shape when striking and how the taker plants his standing foot.

6 missed penalties already this season, something needs addressing definitely, it's costing us the game and most importantly on this occasion the 3 points.

Dominated game couldn't score I have been told as I didn't go today.
13 penalties in the league this season with 11 games left.
Scored 7 missed 6  very unusual stats I would think
2012/13 promotion season I think we had only 1 pen all season.

Must have been more than one pen that season although I have no idea how many if indeed any more at all. Paynter scored one v Blades at home on New Year.

Read it right but I think Campsall and myself are trying to remember penalties that were awarded for us rather than last minute, off the crossbar, ones that were given against us.

It is no use any of us nominating pen takers.
Rowe has been suggested but he has missed this season (Has he missed two?).
Baudry? How do we know whether he is good at them or indeed if he fancies one.
It has to be someone who fancies stepping up and more often than not it will be in a pressure situation.

Better players than ours have missed them over the years.

You would think that it is a foregone conclusion that the taker is going to score but anyone who has taken one in a proper match will know how it is not a certainty that you will score.
Keepers now have an added advantage of being able to see videos of players taking them.
I noticed the keeper on Tuesday didn't dive either way because he thought Marquis might go down the middle like the one he missed earlier in the season.

Definitely not Coppinger. I'd have Rowe on them probably or possibly Grant.
Row was on fire today and a goal from the spot would have given us the game . ( I would pay Grant in peanuts his passing is atrocious ) .

Having seen that I am less bothered about the penalty miss - I don't think is was a penalty in the first place, looks to me like the defender got the ball first.
