Andy Williams
« on December 17, 2016, 04:04:54 pm by Nudga »
I'd like to see him get moved on in January and get a proper striker in to play off marquis.
So frustrating watching this bloke act like a pussy all the time. Creates very little, unable to win headers, unable to hold the ball up and unable to create space by stretching their centre backs.

Are you taking the piss?

He is just back from injury and worked his socks off for 70 mins today.

He is too good to let go ....

Stop talking rubbish. Just come back from injury, him and Marquis were doing fine before.

Well I thought he worked his knackers off today and was surprised by the substitution

Worked his socks off?

I've also seen him with full fitness and there wasn't much difference.

Give up.  He put a hell  of a shift in today and got behind their defense several times in the first half.

He doesn't exactly terrorise a defence does he.

It's the number of attacking options we have that terrorises defenses. Even if one particular player doesn't have a blinder they are still contributing pulling defenders away from play. Just look at the amount of goals we've scored this season.

I would have let Andy go in the summer but now its seems counter productive.

Now Marquis put a shift in. That's work rate.

No way José. He'll take a few games to get back up to speed but he gives us plenty of energy and doesn't give defenders a minute.

I was a bit disappointed with Rowe and Marquis today. Thought they should have been more influential. Rowe gave the ball away too much and didn't show his quality in and around the box.

Thought Houghton, Blair and Baudry were the pick of the bunch today.

I thought Williams ran himself into the ground and Marquis had a poor game by his standards

Yes. I don't think I'm wrong anyway.

He plays with his back to goal but cannot hold it up or move the ball left or right so that he can face the goal.
Always looking for cheap free kicks.
Attempted flick ons are laughable, his nose bleed was caused by both feet being 2 inches off the floor.

66 goals in his last 3 and a half seasons. Good enough for me.

+ 2 ... we were surprised when he was subbed because as you say he had run himself ragged. He chased the lost cause into the East Stand corner kept the ball in got his way past 2 oppo defenders before being tripped by Number 5 (who finally got a Yellow) just outside the area

10 Seconds later he was subbed and did not look happy and that made 3 of us !

So we really need a striker unsettling what we already have?

Williams will continue to score for fun in this division, more games will make him more match fit, and more able to put away his chances.

Surely the only feasible reasons for speaking to a striker are

(a) McSheffrey's injury is far worse than first thought, and he is out for the season
(b) We know of a decent bid for Mandeville or Marquis

Let's hope and pray that it's the first one Dutch.
I don't think that losing one of the others to a bid would go down well with the supporters. We've seen it too often in the past.
