1st choice, pull the other one

It's one thing to have the richest owners in the EFL, but it's a completely different story to get them to spend anything. They'll be joining us in LG1 next season.

Surely you would know about FFP... Wednesday will be on a transfer embargo next season.

They were refused permission to talk to gareth Ainsworth

Why next season? If they are not submitting reasonable accounts to the EFL during the season they'll be hit with an immediate transfer ban.

I would assume because the transfer window is closed now until 'next season' anyway?

It doesn't work that way. If accounts aren't submitted or are submitted but don't meet the criteria a transfer ban is implemented immediately and isn't lifted until clubs fall in line with EFL rules. But it's possible that nobody will notice much because of the way the season is now structured.

That's pretty much what I mean. Jim is no doubt just referring to the fact that the transfer embargo wouldn't have any noticeable effect until next season. If a team gets handed a transfer embargo today, big deal, they can't sign anyone for the next 4 odd months anyway due to the window being shut.

some time in the last 9 months it was stated that the wednesday owners would have put more money into the club but for the fair play rules (Brighton are you listening) -they will have everything sorted "allocated" to the last penny - the easy way to put money into the club is to rename the stadium the john west stadium etc etc (just how Man City do it)
