Beestin's not a striker, so without Williams we only have three senior strikers on the books. This will make the need for a striker coming in in January will be of a higher priority to Fergie now. A shame for Williams but he hasn't exactly pulled up any trees in the last year.
he can't pull up trees when he has been injured like most of the time

Sorry for Williams not his biggest fan but don’t want see anybody injured. Well we will have get at least one striker in January. With Williams still on our books I suppose it could be a loan.

Madden's goal-scoring record is very hit and miss:

2010/11 (Carlisle - League One): 0 goals in 14 appearances
2011/12 (Carlisle - League One): 1 goal in 19 appearances
2012/13 (Carlisle & Yeovil - League One): 24 goals in 42 appearances
2013/14a (Yeovil - Championship): 0 goals in 10 appearance
2013/14b (Scunthorpe - League Two): 5 goals in 21 appearances
2014/15 (Scunthorpe - League One): 17 goals in 55 appearances
2015/16 (Scunthorpe - League One): 23 goals in 52 appearances
2016/17 (Scunthorpe - League One): 11 goals in 40 appearances
2017/18 (Scunthorpe - League One): 4 goals in 24 appearances

We seem to have been linked with Madden since Ferguson joined us. I'd take him, but only providing the finances of the deal suit us.

I wonder if there is a possibility that this may scupper any deal for anyone. Maybe getting rid of Williams in Jan was part of the freeing up some wages to get anyone in.

Hopefully, we can do something as it is obvious that we are struggling a little at the moment to get any sort of constant form.

Yet the frustrating thing for me is having someone like Whiteman on the bench all the time, then reading in the Freepress that we expect him to stay longer than Jan.

I mentioned James Hanson at the start of the season but someone else on here said he was on 10k a week at the Blades

To be fair, those appearances that are listed include substitute ones and are not just starts.
However, even including all of them he is still running at almost a goal every three games.
Quite a consistent record over nine seasons.

He's had 3 good seasons and 1 average one out of 9.

I make that now 2 players of ours out long term to bad tackles that were not punished. Was not Danny Andrew injured by a bad tackle from Liam Trotter of Wimbledon - and Trotter later apologised but said it was his home debut and he felt he needed to make an impression on the fans.

What happenned to retroactive punishment where a referee has not seen something?

And don't get me started on Mitrovic and Alcock and a so called pre-season friendly.

Never mind retrospective punishment, it might be good if referees at this level were vaguely competent.

James Hanson at blades seems out of favour
He's on 10k a week there from what I've heard.

That's a real shame for Williams. I hope he can get himself fit and re-start his career next season.

I feared the worst when Willo hobbled off at Wigan and this is awful news for the lad. I'm gutted for him, he looked full of enthusiasm when he came on as sub the other night, only to get crocked before he'd had a chance to get going.

He must be feeling sick right now. I really hope he recovers fully and gets another chance, but sadly I doubt it will be with us.

Eoin Doyle could be worth a bid if money is available in January. Proven at this level, and has scored 11 goals in 13 league games on loan at Oldham from Preston so far this season.

The problem is I think we are all pretty much agreed that we cant go with a young inexperienced player this time..We need experience, someone whose been there and done it at league 1...

The only way we are going to get a player like that, is if he is out of favour at his current club like Madden..The hope of course that a fresh start at a new club, who has faith in him and is willing to give him a chance results in a return to form...Of course it doesn't always work out like that and it turns into a lemon...That's the chance we have to take somewhere...

No thanks, more injury prone than Williams currently is.
