Praise for the manager today - he won us the game by changing tactics and introducing Alfie for the second half - the lad has usurped Rodney with that 45 minutes today & he must now start as it allowed Marquis to stay upfield doing his stuff rather than running around like a maniac and dropping too deep

The post match interview  today was probably the most honest assessment of a game I have heard from DF.

I notice he slipped in "I suppose" when he said the fans were understandably critical of the first half. How can he only 'suppose'? it was absolutely woeful until half time.

He sounded thoroughly pissed off the whole interview.

I did notice that RedJ but I think the discontent by the crowd was justified.

If it hadn't finished on a high it could have been the turning point where Fergie would have had to consider his job .

That was very similar to what I said in the car on the way home.
In his interview Fergies sounded really down. I did wonder whether his job was at risk if things didn’t improve with today’s result?

His father had a similar situation at ManU and look how that turned out!

Maybe he was reflecting what his original team selection and tactics had brought about in the first 45 minutes. Under both DF and Dickov we sometimes seem to field sides that are/were unbalanced from the off.
Surely the more you have with a group of players the more you understand them.

Not with these players! We are consistently inconsistent!
It’s part of having young inexperienced players in midfield. We can only hope January brings a few wiser players.

I hope so too because we usually have a string of bad results in February and that is the last thing we need.
