Get him signed what he gives on the pitch and what he gives to the young lads at the club he is worth every penny
I find it a very strange way to conduct contract business with any player. How would some of the other players feel when its done different for one particular player?
I don't understand why some people are reluctant to see Coppinger given another year with comments like 'His legs have gone', 'He's past it' or 'He's too expensive' etc.You need your best players to do well and, on the whole, he's been one of the better players in the squad over the last 12 months.He's worthy of another year right now.Whether it'll be the same this time next year is another question, but he'll dictate that with how he plays over the next 12 months.
It's become a running joke really.
