Well Done Dave and George
« on January 23, 2013, 10:48:28 am by mjdgreg »
Unemployment down again. Despite cutting the unnecessary public sector jobs, unemployment continues to fall. We now have more people in work than ever before! All you lefties out there need to cop yourselves on and decide never to vote Labour ever again:

Why weren't you rushing to say well done to Dave and Gideon when the PSBR figures came out the other day?

I'd be more than happy to explain the situation to these people. it would go something like this:

I'm very sorry you are losing your jobs because Labour ruined the country during their 13 years in power and we are now having to make cutbacks. We can no longer afford to have the 4th biggest defence budget in the world. It is time for us to realise that we are not the world's policeman and further cuts are desirable in future.

Just thank your lucky stars that unemployment is falling under this government and you should soon be back in gainful employment. Please do your best not to claim benefits and if you fail to find a job then why not start up your own businesses?

I'd have thought tat was obvious. Have you read any of my previous informative posts? they haven't done well in this regard. They should be cutting a lot faster and further. Austerity what austerity?

We will never know whether or not the deficit would be smaller had the government pursued slower austerity. We will therefore never be able to say for sure whether the policies pursued by this mandateless government are actually causing pain that is unnecessary and counterproductive.

We will never 'know' but the likes of Paul Krugman certainly believe that that is the case and I do too.

I'd love to know the figures for the number of people who are now no longer able to claim un-employment benefits since the stricter measures were implemented, not being an Economist having failed it A level, which I presume is the basis for the number of people in or out of work.
How many people, like my son, have been refused benefits, and therefore not counted as unemployed, simply because his, now, wife is earning "sufficient" to support both of them.
He has now gone self-employed doing research and writing his 1st book which is due to be published in May.

The only thing that matters is that there are more people in work than ever before. That is the true measure of success. Given the appalling way Labour ran the economy it is a tribute to the coalition that they have managed this feat. Well done Dave and George.

Well thanks for that quite interesting but I think the 1st line backs up my comment

"1.Claimant Count Method.

This method calculates unemployment by measuring the number of people receiving benefits (Job Seekers allowance)"

Therefore reduce the amount of people able to claim benefits and the number unemployed goes down............. amazing!
Skillfull Government I would say there.

Don't quite understand why a man of your undoubted intelligence, wealth & success is wasting his time posting your love of the current government on a football forum like this. Perhaps you lack friends that share your views, perhaps you're barred from the local conservative club for drinking too much champagne celebrating your successful life, or perhaps you're very lonely, full of shit & enjoy trying to wind people up who aren't as fortunate as you. Pretty sad really.

http://harpymarx.wordpress.com/2013/01/26/april-will-be-a-very-cruel-month-if-you-are-on-welfare-benefits/

The thing I find absolutely terrifying is many people are wandering into this with their eyes closed , not really understanding how bad it is going to be for umpteen thousands of people.

And how many that won't be effected don't care or think that it is all that these people deserve.

So along with dealing with a terminal diagnosis your family also have to deal with the total ignorance of the benefit system. The sheer cruelty of this system is breathtaking, decisions are being made by people who have no compassion or it would seem experience of the most severe illnesses and disabilities.

The government is even altering the appeals system, I honestly think they are totally uncaring of the damage they are and will continue to be causing..

As for idiot dipstick shit, well I'm sure the man is a psychopath.

My heart goes out to your sister in law and family. x

Debs it totally beggers belief  whats happening with her,  but Macmillan  tbh are being terrific and trying to sort these idiots out and its not the first time they have come across it.
Why have we got to rely on charities to sort these numbskulls out

I've read some terrible things these past few months, It makes me so angry, at a time when all she needs is peace and calm for the dwp to be putting her through the ringer like this is just shameful.

The Macmillan nurses are angels i think but as you say we shouldn't have to rely on charities to sort it out, and that it has come to that is a disgrace.

I concur debs and Dagenham, as we all know, and as I've said before, the t**ts are using the " current world economic crisis" as a smokescreen to dismantle each and every advance put in place by progressive adminiatrations.

Anybody know where I can buy a shitload of fertiliser and have a London A-Z ?

It's all so vindictive and calculated, every area designed to help those in need is being chipped away at. i cannot see for the life of me how the reforms are going to save money in the long run.

Tbh, I think knowing they aren't going to get back into power for a generation they are going out of their way to make governing as hard as possible fr the next government..

Either that or part of the bulliington initiation was a labotomy.

I think you'll find that I come on here at all times of the day and night. When you are a successful businessman like what I am then you can choose to sleep at any time of the day or night. No more 'working for the man' for me.

I have a lot of sympathy for your sister-in-law Dagenham. She is an obvious case  where someone should be looked after by the benefits system. It's the people that live in areas that they can't afford that are taking unnecessary money out of the welfare state in housing benefit that means people like you sister-in- law don't get looked after properly because there isn't enough money to go around.

If we could stop all these spongers living a good life at taxpayers expense then the needy could be looked after properly.

The problem is everybody is being tarred with the same brush as spongers.  A major  effort to target the spongers, stop these ivory tower benefits people riding roughshod over genuine medical evidence which is happening far too often.
The system needs reforming in some fairly obvious areas to start with, it does not need dismantling
