Wolfie that's a withagram!

In the early 1970s, a long term bet (as yet never won by anyone) at Uni to see if anyone could get a word into the Oxford Dictionary resulted in me writing a spoof academic article in a NATO magazine about withagrams (We were informed that any candidate word had to be in print somewhere). A withagram is defined as two words, mutual anagrams, which have a sensible meaning when put together - e.g. Ocean Canoe, English Shingle, Ratchet Chatter etc. The article even 'investigated' 'Multiwithgrams (three or more mutual anagram words with a sensible meaning e.g. Large Regal Lager, or for quiet times on ths board - a Thread Dearth Hatred).  And Pseudowithagrams (Failed withagrams) where one of the words breaks down into smaller words - e.g. The Classroom Schoolmaster, Combinatorial Robotic Animal, To aim point is Optimisation), and finally multipseudowithagrams - 'I'm that anaemic Thematimaniac Mathematician' since I am crazy for structure or themes everywhere.

BobG would know all about this!

Carnivorous Coronavirus now added to the list!

Here are a few as a quiz (Edit have given the letters contained in each of the two words in each answer in alphabetical order - numbers of letters in each word in brackets):

1.   Good shot (Tennis) (6)
a      Lovely Volley (ELLOVY)

2.   Showing reticence in bidding (7)
a.   Auction Caution (ACINOTU)

3.   Eastern Cousin (8)
a.   Oriental Relation (AEILNORT)

4.   Perfect fantasy (8)
a.   Unsoiled Delusion (DEILNOSU)

5.   A single supporter of the Monarchy? (8)
a.   Solitary Royalist (AILORSTY)

6.   Large number of flyers (8)
a.   Thousand Handouts (ADHNOSTU)

7.   Clumsy ensemble (9)
a.     Carthorse Orchestra (ACEHORRST)

8.   Silent female predators (9)
a.   Noiseless Lionesses (EEILNOSSS)

9.   South American fruit (9)
a.   Argentine Tangerine (AEEGINNRT)

10.   High speed drumming (10)
a.   Supersonic Percussion (CEINOPRSSU)

Sorry BB, I can see I wasn't very clear. Number 1 needs two six letter words, each an anagram of the other. Number 2 needs 2 seven letter words etc.

I see!

A bit complicated I know, but in my defence I was trying to create something for a word that didn't already exist
