It's all about image isn't it.

Someone said a few weeks ago that Johnson loved the idea of one day being Prime Minister. And he loves the idea that one day he will have been Prime Minister. It's just the awkward bit in between that he struggles with.

Multiple personality disorder is probably the most accurate tag anyone has stuck on him so far and would account for his various meanderings into the past lives of others more aquainted with getting things done more than he has.
