Still too much attention to a player released by another club when we have our own youth development players that prem clubs are interested in. If we are going to bypass them and play new signings then future promising youth from the local area will do as in the past and go to other local clubs that will encourage them with a chance

Sentiment should never come into it. You play your best team available no matter where they are from.

Sentiment is not quite the right word but my desire to see our youth such as middleton wakefield and Finnegan get an opportunity is strong.

They're going to. But they're not ready yet. Neither is Luke. This is the point of the development squad.

Also consider the carpet bombing approach the big clubs have to youth recruitment (look at how many squad numbers Liverpool dish out - 70+ in recent seasons) there's always going to be this trend now of clubs signing premiership youth releases because in reality these are the kind of players that should have been in our youth team to start with were big clubs not so greedy.
