Funny that they find themselves on the same side of the argument as Cellino.

All joking aside, I agree with them. It is lazy scheduling by Sky because they know how many slots they have to show live games and these sort of changes should be made several months in advance. As for the Football League, well, I suppose it would be naive to think that they would give mere fans a moment's thought.

It's pretty pathetic of the Football League to try and shift the blame on to Leeds for this.

The system in Spain is similar to this, you know who you're playing and what weekend, but you don't know until fairly soon beforehand if it's on Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday.

Traditionally there's not really an away culture in Spain, but what little there may be doesn't stand a chance with this approach to things.

The way i understood this was that they delayed the decision as Leeds were playing the idiots over the Derby game.  The club apparently were notified back in November of the game been moved for TV

there should be a minimum number of weeks before a match that tv companies have to announce such decisions for FL games; it's always the fans the suffer.

You'd think that, Rob, but I have a feeling it won't say anything like that in Sky's contract.

Interesting that Cellino asked to see a copy of the contract and the FL refused. Obviously they were concerned he would go public. But I doubt there is a specific notice period or any limit on the number of times one team can be shown in one season.

It's the Boro fans I feel sorry for. I wonder how many have now got in wanted train tickets.

Cellino has said that moving this fixture will cost his club money.
I bet he wasn't too disappointed when he got his £5m sky money at the start of the season even though the contract allows for this type of rescheduling.

Its not quite £5m. The "facilities" fee for Championship clubs is £2.1m. Each televised game gets the home club £100k.

Fair enough SM, if that is the case.
However it was the BBC who quoted the £5m that I mentioned so I took it that they would know what they are talking about.

You certainly don't know how to endear yourself to people do you?
It is quite funny that you should say that though because last year I made a comment about another BBC article and someone on here chastised me,saying that the BBC were very unlikely to print something that wasn't true.
I'm not sure why you would suggest I am a novice though when you know jack all about me.

To be fair drfchound each Championship club will get around £5m per season, but in the shape of two different payments. The Sky money is as I quoted above, however the PL will also be passing money onto each club in the shape of solidarity payments, and in the Championship it currently stands at around £2.25m.

You had better go to bed then young fella.
Before you go though just read SM's last post which kind of backs up what I had originally said.
You need to be sure of your facts before calling people a novice.
Nite nite then, get your mum to tuck you in.

My original comment was aimed at the BBCs lack of accuracy, not you.

Not everything has to be about you, Hound.

Still, if you fancy getting my mam to tuck me in could you ask her yourself?

I got your point Sad. It made me laugh out loud. It really wasn't a dig at you Hound. We all laugh at the BBC - never knowingly right you know? Sad was just making a joke about it. We've all got more than enough reasons to fall out with one another. I promise you, this isn't one of them :)

Cheers

I had Miss Leeds in my sights with the hairy chest and dirty knickers.

Kind of with them but presumably they are getting paid too.
Oh and those poor old cockney fans . feel for the Norwegian hoodlums and of course the Boro' lads

So lets just get this right then Sad.

I posted about a BBC comment.
You said "A classic novices mistake hound".
I asked who was the novice.
You said "You for believing summat from the BBC"..

How is that your original point aimed at a lack of accuracy about something the BBC had written when you clearly had a dig  at me for being a novice?

For what it's worth, as the thread's gone a bit off piste, Australian 'A' league team, The Western Sydney Wanderers supporters (behind the goal and young fans) recently boycotted a few games to get the authorities to bring a bit of balance into sanctions against 'misbehaviour' It worked as the gates were well down and the League bosses were forced to the table to discuss grievances.

Not just the small clubs like Leeds that are suffering, some of the big boys aren't happy either:

N.B. A boycott of the first 5 minutes? That'll show em who's boss.
