Anderson and Beestin
« on February 26, 2018, 01:29:35 pm by selby »
Is there any substantiated news about the injuries they sustained at the weekend. The club seem to be holding back on giving our supporters any news.
We are I think as concerned for their well being as anyone else, and they could do better at keeping us informed.

well said Selby. Agree 100%. The club should be communicating information on their condition as supporters do care about the players.

It's only Monday lunchtime, perhaps the club are waiting for a proper diagnosis for each injury before commenting?

I.D.M. that's fair comment, ans I appreciate that, but a quick statement saying that as soon as the club has any news, they will let us know is not beyond the realms of a possibility, we are as interested as anyone else in their well being.
Poor communication with our  supporters should not be an issue in the modern world.

They trend to let the fans know ASAP. They will be having scans etc today. The club wasting time and effort saying “we don’t know the extent of the injuries but we will let you know when we do” is pointless.

Gaz, I know the Nhs is not what it used to be, but I still think that if you are taken to hospital on a Saturday evening with an injury that could be serious,i.e. neck or spinal or a suspected broken bone, I would be willing to take a bet that sometime before Sunday morning the medical people would have a very good idea of what the hell was wrong with you.
Or have we really sunk to the level you are promoting.

They like to wait for swelling to go down before scanning and/or diagnosing. We will find out soon enough.

Well, whatever the outcomes, I'm sure we all wish them a speedy recovery.

I would say that they would know by now if it wasn’t as serious as first expected. I imagine it’s likely to be bad news, they just need all info’ in before releasing a statement.

Absolutely do wish them a speedy and complete recovery so they can carry on with their careers for a start

True I was and still am mortified that we lost to the last kick of the match after a Point looked "on" BUT I am still sat "worrying and wondering" about those injuries especially for those involved

Also could be vital to the Team and in this case I am hoping no news is good news but suspect not !

From Paul Goodwin. Tom Anderson fractured cheekbone, 4-6 weeks out. Alfie Beestin ankle ligaments, 6-8 weeks out. Realistically we'll be lucky to see Alfie play again this season.

Shame for them both as they were improving into their roles.
What about Luke was it, is it a knock. Will he be available if we play on Saturday.

Bugger - but it could have been worse - a lot worse

We can, we will have to pay his wages though you would imagine. Burnley may want their medical team to treat him.

Gone back to Burnley on the premise that they can get him in for surgery quicker

As long as they are in a position( in Andersons case that is) where their careers are not under threat as Jones was with his neck injury, it is a relief, hopefully we will see them back sooner than later.
As has been pointed out they were just making a name for themselves, both injuries are very unfortunate for both of them.

Wolfie, do you think Anderson would get a discount if he had a nose job done at the sametime?

Beestin, who has recently slotted impressively into a midfield role, is out for 6-8 weeks with ankle ligament damage.

With all their PL wonga you would think it wasn’t beyond comprehension that Burnley could pay Anderson’s wages.

Crap news for them both and for us but at least they are both short term injuries. Beestin was really growing as a player and now I think we'll have to put Kongolo back in the team which is, well, we'll see.

If McCullough is available it would be interesting to see if Whiteman can play where Beestin was doing.

Wonder if Anderson would be able to play with some form of face mask
