Watching the chesterfield game. Good to see Horton and Mandeville playing for them. Mandeville looks to be playing right back which I wasn’t expecting!

He is playing right midfield.

Just said on commentary that he has more assists than any other player in England this season.
Not sure how many leagues down the pyramid that applies to.

Are you watching Fergie. One that you let get away. Just a pity Liam didn’t mature as a person while with us because he was one of the best 19/20 year olds I have seen at Rovers.
His ability stood out like a saw thumb. He was a natural footballer with a football brain.
I think only Ian Snodin was ahead of him regarding natural ability, of any player I have seen come through our youth system. That is since 1975.
Obviously King Alick who was a long time before would be top of the all time list.

Sorry you’re right he is playing right back.
I am so used to him playing further forward I refused to believe it but you’re quite correct. Apologies.

Took me a bit to clock it and even then had to double/triple check. Surprised Pompey haven’t gone after them on that side

We don’t want the winners of this match away from home.
Or at home I would think.

Chesterfield look a very decent footballing team.
Would be a good away day for the fans but will be a very tough nut to crack.

Prefer Sutton United at home if I was given a choice of all league and non league teams in the draw.

Anyway we have a tough replay to play first at Accrington.

I take it you don’t use a 24 hr clock on the North West coast of England.
Just confirmed what I thought to be correct that the Lancashire people are light years behind us Yorkies.

Sorry bpoolrover no offence.  :)   Although I presume you may be from Doncaster originally.

Fergie v McCann will be very interesting indeed.

Quite tasty as all our games are at London Road.

Yuk. Maybe a tactical withdrawal to concentrate on the league while reducing the risk of further injuries?

I think I would go to Peterbro if we get end up with that fixture.
I haven’t been there since the 3-3 draw in the sixties.

Going to miss it unfortunately. Not due to land at Manchester airport until 16.20 that afternoon.
If we play on Sunday then I can go. What’s the chance?  Won’t be on TV think that’s a certainty.

Awful draw. A date with Fergie or Matt Smith.

.dont agree, i think play offs will be to much for us this season unless a decent amount of money is made available to sort the defence out, so a decent cup run would help next seasons funds

That was a great game, Hound. However, the best Rovers performance there for me was the 3-0 win on Boxing Day 2019.

Ivan Toney never got a kick that day.

I too thought Mandeville had talent and since he left we’ve been mostly terrible. Despite that, Mandeville has always been playing at least one league below the level we’ve been at. He may get promoted this year with Chesterfield and go on to have 5-10 years playing in the football league but right now you’d be hard pressed to call him one that got away in the same manner that you could May or Watters.

It was his attitude apparently that stalled his career. Ability wise he was way ahead of Alfie May. But Alfie’s attitude was unquestionably spot on hence his career in League 1 and Mandeville’s so far being in the National League after leaving us.
But yes he is one that got away and maybe a different Manager to Fergie would have got Mandy on the right track off the pitch.
Think he and Fergie just didn’t hit it off.

Loving the positivity.
We can win at their place if the players go with the right attitude, Unlike some on here.
They are only a league 2 team like us.
If cray can draw away at charlton, if Chesterfield can beat Portsmouth, then we can beat Accrington.
