Agree. None of them look likely.

Although we all know SOD won't get the job, a lot of people who haven't done their research will put money on it.

Who TF is Micky Mellon, surely thats a made up name? Wasn't he the manager of Melchester Rovers?

Let's bring Billy the Fish in as player manager.

Micky Mellons? That were a 1970s Thai ladyboy porn star.

Any road. Everyone ITK knows that Danny Bergara is a shoo-in.

Ex Fleetwood manager, got them promoted to league two, got sacked late last year even though they were holding a top 6 spot in the league, currently helping out Flitcroft at Barnsley.

Carlton Palmer as likely as Mark Wilson to be the next Rovers manager - it's official!

Let's just give the job to Rob Jones and be done with it so we can all lump on and make enough for next seasons ST's and maybe a holiday in Hawaii.

Stan James have a more sensible set of prices:

I think those lists and the odds given show the bookies don't really know which way this one will go.

Lots of these seem to have done a trawl on these boards and listed ex-players like we have.

Mark Wilson! Has he any coaching experience at all?

Nice idea but not yet he still has a defense to marshal without any long term whingeing to deal with.

I was thinking this. No one else outside Rovers fans even knows who the hell Mark Wilson is, never mind considers him for the managers job.

All relatively long odds still which is the bookies way of saying "We haven't got a clue".

Names I'd be OK with... SOD (of course but we know it won't be him so irrelevant) Nicol, Snodin, Tisdale, Robins or Parkinson

Please no.....Megson, Laws, Penney, Cotterill, Palmer (?), Dowie.

The rest are either somehwere in between or I've never heard of them!

Hmmm Laws would be a good fit style wise and he has been approached before I understand.

This is a great link. The bookies clearly don't know what they are doing? With a bit of inside knowledge on this forum there is some money to be made surely? Every cloud.

Stan James have made Coyle 5/1

I just hope JR makes the same sort of aquisition as he has done previously.

Im not able to go to the match Saturday, but i damn wish i could! Rob Jones will be electric! if that doesnt knit the team spirit together, nothing will!

Sam the team is ''knitted together well'' or at least away from home it is.

I didnt mean it like that Hoola, as i agree they seem a tight bunch.

More that in these times it can go one of two ways, however i dont think that morale could be any better than with Jones taking the reign.

it was a positive comment, not me trying to be negative and look for cracks.

Im quite worried who will be the next manager, i dont think ''I'' will be as happy as i have been with the last two.

therfore id sooner see Jones keep it together than risk fracturing what we already have. :)

Just to clarify things, Brian Flynn is taking charge assisted by Rob Jones

You're right to be worried perhaps Jones has been very influential in team selection etc hence his temporary appointment as assistant. A new manager may not want the same input and that could cause morale problems short term.

Filo - Can you do a bit more clarification.  You've got Flynn assisted by Jones and Silent Majority has posted a thread with Jones assisted by Flynn.  Which is it?

In any case, I think it should be a decent interim situation at least, which means we don't have to rush this.

Rovers have confirmed to me it is in fact Brian Flynn assisted by Rob Jones. Dean was under the impression the Corporal was to take charge.

Jones does have his coaching badges though so clearly fancies taking the reins at some point.

Personally I expect the team to be fired up for this weekend's game.  The interviews are expected to take place before the end of the week with the new manager being unveiled early next week.  Flynn and Jones will have a free hand this week.
