I'm surprised that Butcher is interested in either Barnsley or Rovers. I thought he had quite a lot of business interests in Scotland which is why he's only managed up there recently.

He wasn't very good when he was at Coventry and they were only saved from relegation when they appointed Don Howe to "work with him "- i.e. tell him what to do!

Would prefer him to Lomas. Could be a good appointment, it's up to him whether he wants a relegation fight on a shoestring, or a promotion charge on slightly less of a shoestring.

Just heard on RS that there's nowt in this anyway, but who knows at this stage? JR has said it'll take at least a week, so I'd imagine any names doing the rounds at this early stage are likely false.
