As long as we see improvement in terms of performances, and we believe if the performances are right then the results will come.
I looked at the starting XI last night, no Sadler, Copps on the bench, DM starting with 5 at the back? I felt the worst, ‘parking the bus’ fo 90 minutes...suicide. But no, DM played a blinder with his tactics. He’s getting the best out of a threadbare squad with tactical nouse. I just hope we can get someone up front because after last nights performance I don’t want to be appearing to ‘slag’ anyone off but Niall Ennis, even when he found he had the ball in space & room to run too often got shepherded wide or chose the wrong option. We know he’s not a ‘natural No 9 & that’s the only thing we were lacking last night.

The warm up practice had James in a back 5 but that I think was to throw Sunderland off the scent. James played in Sadlier’s position on the left of the 3 behind Ennis.

I think the point being made was “when looking at the starting eleven” not when seeing how they shaped up on the pitch. When you see three central defenders and two full backs in the line up it’s quite logical to consider we might play three / five at the back. Obviously we didn’t do that and I think that was the point.
The team was well set up to play against an in form team at home. 5 at the back was the right thing to do as a point at Sunderland is a good result in this league. I agree about Ennis though. Against 3 defenders who are strong at this level - a striker needs support. Unless they are a big lad who has a realistic chance of winning a header and holding it up, it is bound to be a thankless task. Unfortunately we don’t have that option at the minute as we genuinely don’t have an outright number nine in the squad. I’m not a doom monger by any stretch of the imagination, I think DM is doing a stellar job with the squad he has at his disposal. I’m not berating the board, I am sure they have their reasons as to why we seem so slow to act when it is and has been plainly obvious since the day Marquis left that we are short in that area. I think we all feel like a couple of decent players who are ours would lift us to the next level and make us a very competitive outfit in league one.

I seriously don’t know what you are talking about. I just stated we warmed up as a back 5 but didn’t play it and played our usual formation. What’s the problem. How does that make me look foolish?
Jonathan is agreeing with the Colin. You are agreeing with Jonathan but appear to think you are at cross purposes

How does that make me look foolish? So I take it you don’t read your own posts (especially given they are usually so long winded) before posting then. Even more foolish.I’ll take you through it slowly so that a 4 year old could understand.Read my post again, the one you quoted. Then read your reply to that post which begins “We didn’t play 5 at the back”.Where in my post did I say ‘we played 5 at the back’? Nowhere. And that is why you were foolish to quote me & why when you compound it with another post saying “Explain please. What have I said?”, not only were you foolish in the first instance, the 2nd shows in fact that you clearly are a fool.
How the f*ck is this still going on?
No I don't agree the defence with SOD was weak, as we scored a lot but gave away goals at the other end. But with DM we are strong at the back but weak up front
