Tin tin > > > must have been the only Doncaster skinhead ,I guess he still have a short back and sides crop today.last I heard he lived in Coventry.
Two bob shame > > > allways saw him outside train station at Doncaster before any away game and would go round asking everybody ' lend us two bob please' .he allways seemed to tap enough
money to get there by the end.
Charlie from thorne > > > still going strong today and if you have been a rovers regular for last 30 years on away games you will at least know Charlie by face.his quirk and still is was to get to whatever away game by opening time and have half a pint in as many pubs as possible and writting pub name down in his black book .
Said book must be some door stop by now allways had a side kick with him called mick.
The chap that's on the front of the Viva rovers fanzine, never knew his name but saw him on OBV pop side loads of times during 1980s allways had same red/white hat on.
There was a blind rovers fan I used to see all the time both at home/ away games back in the 1980s with his helper .whatever happened to him?
Paul mayfield > > > needs no introduction .
Please feal free to add

If you mean the blind man who by his appearance has been blind from birth, then I am sure he still goes, with a helper, and uses the west stand.
I first remember him in around 1982 at an away FA Cup early round at Chester's old ground. We had just lost 3-1 and he was in the midst of the throng on the terraces shouting thr "beer beer we want more beer" chant...
-
The chap that's on the front of the Viva rovers fanzine, never knew his name but saw him on OBV pop side loads of times during 1980s allways had same red/white hat on.
I was told... a few months after we started putting him on the 'zine... that his name was Bernard Glover, and he was from Wheatley. Though I'd be surprised if you saw him on the Pop Side loads of times as I think he stood on the Main Stand terrace. That's certainly where he is on the photo I used as the basis for the fanzine ident.
-
Yeah we used to take Bernard along with us and always stood in the main stand. Sadly he passed a way a few years ago but a lovely man who loved the rovers.

playing on me mind as I was allways on main stand terrace aswell.my memory is terrible .
Aidanstu thanks for giving me his name as I never knew it and now I find out that Bernard passed
away a few years ago that's ruined my weekend
RIP Bernard from mainstand terrace and thanks for the memories

The thing about being an exile is that you always see basically the same faces at away games. You don't know the names of a lot and not living in Donny that is the only time that you see them unless you bump into them at a home game.
My first away game was 1962 and it's amazing how long some have been travelling away. A few seem to drop off every season or so though unfortunately as Father Time gets a grip.
True supporters, not glory hunters. I'll be driving over for the bus in an hour so I'll be seeing more faces that I've seen for years but no name.
Trying to snow here in Bradford so I hope it's warmer as we head south.
-
I see the Blind lad at the ground, believe West Stand..I am sorry to hear that Bernard has died (R.I.P.) I played one solitary game for Newton Hotel and Bernard was playing centre forward, even with his disability he tried his best, I played left side and sent in a centre (only thing that was of any good I must admit) Bernard ran in to meet it and the net bulged...Celebrations of him and the crowd were priceless. Again R.I.P. Bernard - save some room in the stands up there.
-
I always remember an old bloke who used to sit next to my grandad in the wheelchair bit at the front of the main stand. If anything that wasn't disastrous happened he'd just shout "that'll do". Me and my brother still say it now when we are watching footy. He's probably dead bless him but his saying lives on.

Pugsy
Matty Banks and father
Mayfield
Hanksy
Big fella with black hair, glasses (lives in Nottingham) goes to most away games.
Same old faces on North Branch pretty much every week.
-
Few stranger things than this.
Been going 25 years man and boy. Folk there basically seen me grow up. One constant over that quarter century has been Rovers. Spent times of great sorrow and great joy stood with them.
Literally no idea who they are or anything about them. 'Known' them longer than wives, girlfriends, outlived parents and grandparents but literally nowt you know about 99pc of those people around you whether it was Dover, Barrow, Stoke or Wembley.
All very odd if you think about it.

Is the lad and father them two from the Jeremy Clarkson programme?
-
Archie from Goldthorpe
Swayo.
-
Is the lad and father them two from the Jeremy Clarkson programme?
Yep, still looks almost exactly the same as he did back then.
-
Palo still comes back now and again complete with tan and porn star tache
Premo not seen or heard anything of him for years- he moved over to the dark side chasing eggs last I heard. Could perhaps check bar at winning post
-
I remember Monty, Jock and Pailo,Pugsy and the bloke who wore a Batman costume for ages.
-
Is he still around, the pirate bloke.
-
I remember Winston and someone called Vic didnt know his surname, always on Tracky coaches.
-
Who remembers Archie?
-
Yep. I certainly do.
The Vicar has also been a constant ( at least since i met him in 1971, as either himself or Donny Dog).
-
I think that Archie died some years ago according to Barry Watson.
I'm sure that he only seemed to go for about six years though.
-
Dave Swainston aka swayo alas passed away a few years ago now, he was the landlord of the Flarepath Dunsville
-
Another name that has just popped into my head is "King Farouk" as Andy Liney used to call him on one of the coaches in the fancam days.
-
As were looking back - who was on THE coach !
Lighting playing cards and spinning them down the centre isle of the coach was never going to end well !

Its pigging freezing in Reading and been snowing on and off all morning - so it looks like the game will be on - not looking forward to the M4 drive on a Friday evening though. COYR

Premo once walked all the way from conisboro to help clear snow from pitch at OBV and
was last seen as a kit man at the dons .
Paylo not seen him for years but I guess he is still baised out in Spain somewhere.
-
Somewhere like that Oslo - was it palo in with Palace fans away in league cup years ago
-
Who remembers Archie?
Archie lived in Goldthorpe, sad to hear he is in the upper tier stand. Probably sat with Haighy who was always with him and Winston and little Sue Hirst (Hyde Park I believe)
-
Premo used to sup with us in the Winning Post and would run buses to games ever so often (usually at a loss to himself). I remember going in the back of a Luton van from the Winner to Cambridge and Burnley for Tuesday night games in the 80's. The Burnley game was the 1st time I can recall seeing a DDR calling card. Some of the lads in the van had them. If I remember correctly The Vicar was the driver of the van to Cambridge.
Last I heard was he had a bad fall down some steps while working for Bradford Park Avenue and due to complicatuions with the op to put it right, ended up disabled and in a nursing home in Edlo.
-
Sorry to hear that STABNASTY he was a strange fish even at t'pit

I did not go to last league cup game at selhurst park when I think SOD was the manager
So can't comment on what paylo got up to.
I did go to the league cup 2nd leg game there against place about 35 years ago .rovers got beat but
best memory of this game was the coach that I went down on never turned up outside the ground after the game.
There was a coach load of us all stood outside selhurst park on the street corner and everyone else
had fcuked off home ages ago ,even floodlights were turned off.
Then the police came by and asked us what we was all upto .thry was told that our coach had not turned up to take us back to pubcaster.
Police got on the radio and sometime later our coach turned the corner and the dirty bas**rd of the coach driver had a brass sat on the front seat ,seems he was sawing said brass in half when plod found him parked up.
This is no way to run a official supporters coach might I add ,driver should at least have offered the brass around

I was in bank of that Luton van fella the one to burnley
Do you recall the massive Cadburys cream egg fight in back if said van .some ddr lad had nicked a full box of them from the services and it got quite messy in back of that van with cream eggs been launched between the back and front in the back of the van.
If you got one of them cream heads at full pelt to side of yer head you knew about it

Oslo it was the 30 + year ago game
We went on service train on back on a mail train

If I remember wasn't he a ref on a Sunday morning too
Reffed a couple of games i played alongside smoke McKay,seen Monte skulking around town a few times recently
Monte as in monty ? If so I was on understanding that he moved out to Scunthorpe
Recall him on the train to the Chester play off game he had a large cocoa cola plastic fizzy pop thing
from macdonalds .he threw all the cola away and filled it with som'ert called 20/20 then necked it all before train stopped at Rotherham.

Chainy, think his first name was Raymond
Said lad is one of me best mates at rovers fcuk he has been in some situations over the years at rovers.doubt you will see him down there anymore as he has doing a blinding job at the Hawthorne
club cantley .
He had a bas**rd terrible snoring issue as it was like a German Panza division was starting up
in the room .i roomed with him at Bournemouth away in the facup and he said 'ddr don't stress about my snoring as I have got this great stuff that I squeeze a drop or two into my mouth before I sleep and no snoring'
Thing is he can be right t**t after a session as when we got back to our room and hit the sack the panza division was starting up again'
' for fcuk ray use them drops that you have'
His answer was ' pound a drop '
It seems there was a police helicopter outside and above our hotel all night as it was after a local joy rider ,thing is I could not hear the police iron bird in the sky due to the panza division that was passing thou my room all night.
-
I remember Winston and someone called Vic didnt know his surname, always on Tracky coaches.
Vic Hunt passed away probably about 10 years ago, not sure whatever happened to Winston though
-
Back in the 80s we used to run coaches to all away games from the Woolpack. What a Motley crew that was, ....Crackerjack, Grizzly, Dabby are three that spring to mind...Great days
-
King Farouk was from Harworth ,his name was Mock ,but a lot of the Harworth lads called him " Hot dog " because he used to work on the fair. He owned some slot machines in some arcades mainly around Pontefract. He passed away at least 5 years ago from cancer
-
I've been going 59 years. Just about to renew for the 60th. You can see me in the South Stand, I'm the one grinding his axe.
-
Mick from Harworth
-
A bloke called Micky. I remember him when I first started going in the pop side (and Marv, and a ginger with glasses). I don't know them but I still see them 25+ years later
I think Micky works in the golf shop York road way
-
Mick Largent.

Jeff the punk

Mick Largent still goes
-
Jeff the punk
Would that be Jeff bull by any chance ? If was allways within Charlie's from Thorne company.
Don't think he goes rovers anymore ,but I could be wrong .
Sure he now lives down south somewhere now.
-
Does Tisso still go Rovers?
-
Funnily enough CBCB as I was reading this thread I kept thinking 'Where's Tisso?' Come to that, does Nathan still turn up?
Cheers

Does Tisso still go Rovers?
I saw him at Newport last night.
Micky Dzora was there as well. I keep bumping into him now and again at games.

Micky dzora was allways the last 'd' in the Doncaster and area phone book.
Said lad had a soft spot for both blackpool and Chelsea
Recall when he was stood o. Main stand terrace back in mid 1980s and someone whipped his addias tracky bottoms for his Union Jack boxer shorts to be revealed to all the terrace .
It was a better moment during a dull rovers game .

Is it correct to say that Jeff now spends most his time with his music interest these days ?

Micky said he was stopping over in Mertha Tydfil (however you spell it)
and going to his first ever rugby match. He'd had a few before the game and seemed happy enough.

Mind you, I did some fantastic research in the local library.

Had the luxury of sharing a room with Micky after the newport game and a couple of the young lads who go away with England as well as Donny. Micky awoke us all at half 5 saturday morning telling us he'd pissed the bed, a bloke in his 50s ffs.

Palo still in Cambodia at the minute, goes over there in the winter for a few months. Still goes to the occasional game but is working a lot and trying to stay on the right side of the law. Handy bloke though.

Monty has been serving at his majestys pleasure for a while, not at liberty to say what for though.
Few i'll add that i've near enough always seen.
Charlie from Thorne, Dodger, Mega, all the Jollies (Dominoes boys), pugsy, ginner, Barry Petch to name a few.
Remember some old bloke called Maurice from Hyde Park who I used to see quite a bit, went on Len's coach. Not seen him for a while though.
-
Hanksie,
Maurice and his wife along with the great now deceased Marjorie stood near me at BV. The story was that Maurice first visited BV when a Grimsby fan in the sixties. He met his future wife who was a Rovers fan at the match and the rest is history. I did see Maurice and wife in the West Stand for the first season at the KM but that was all.
-
Folks who I recall as being regulars were/are - Big Sos, Scholey, Sheldon all from Armthorpe, Steve, Mark, Nidge, Whitey, Sumo, Titch, Daz, Spud, Junior Jockey (The main stand singers circa 1988), Des from Wheatley, Barnsley John.

I'm sure that Maurice went to one away game by car.
Les,Ginner and Graham were the other occupants I think.
Probably Stevenage thinking about it.

I can confirm Junior Jockey is still in attendance ( but not so junior anymore) Spud had a season ticket up till last year as well. Not seen Sos at rovers for years last time I saw him was driving his bakers van
-
A guy I always see at away games is the bloke with the long sideburns (down to bottom of his neck) glasses, he sometimes wears the double denim combination (jacket & jeans) and at London games he wears a 'Cole Not Dole' pin badge, I guess he was once a proud cole miner, there's usually a few others with him.
-
maurice ockleford, used to go to all the games on lens bus, but has not been to well for about 18 months, premo, aka david wilson, think he also used to run the Tally Ho coaches as well, as was said was kit man at the dons, then Bradford park Avenue, had a bad injury, ill ask John helm next time he's at rovers,, remember Jock, at Oxford thumped a Oxford fans just as the police turned the corner, case proven my lord, see ANDY LINEY on his bike couple of times a week, but does not speak to me. kev rogan used to run the thorne buses, junior jockey still pops to see him.
-
Does Andy Liney still go to rovers games ? Recall seeing him at many
England away games during my time .
-
Was Mick (King Farouk) the chap with fairground tattoos on his hands? Used to look a bit dodgy but was always a sound fella when I spoke to him. He used to stand in front of me on the Pop, smoking Mayfairs.

That will be Griff
-
Aye, he used to be mates with my next-door neighbour. Once went on a belting pub crawl around the Isle of Axholme area on a minibus with them and a few others culminating in a lock-in at the sadly long gone Packet Inn at Misterton.
-
Surprised nobody's mentioned Shaun T yet. Then again he's probably spent 80% of the last 15 years on a ban!
-
Shaun's dad was sound apart from being a Forest fan ... but I think he got a lifetime ban. Shaun has a bit to live up to yet

Thought I let someone else bring big tets into the fray .one thing for sure is that you could never doubt his commitments to watching rovers . He was everywhere during the conference years when DRFC were at its lowest ebb .
-
Some great stories here lads. There's some right characters who follow rovers.
-
I also remember a group of Skins that used to go to the Rovers in the late 80's/early 90's. They were in a band called Skin Deep and were pretty big on the Ska scene as I recall. I used to see them at most home games around the time of Bremmner's 2nd stint and they were always good for a laugh. I stopped seeing them at matches after 2-3 seasons though. Fast forward 10 years or so and I spot one of them playing guitar in Babyshambles with Pete Doherty.

and still today I stil only know some lads by their nicknames .
-
I've seen "Santa" this year at the Keepmoat
-
Does Santa still go ?
I saw him at the Morecombe game.

Are any of you lot Dan( i think ) Williams ( some how i think you know Oslo) who occasionally drank in the Carps off marble Arch London?
-
What about Trevor Frost and Big Pie?

Archie from Goldthorpe

He's my mates cousin. I was stood next to him by chance at Chester away in the conference play offs and the police were overreacting and had us all on camera.
Wasn't he arrested on tv following Leeds in Europe ?

What about Trevor Frost and Big Pie?
Trevor Frost is my nephew. I think his last game was Scunny at home last season.
He works most week-ends and was enjoying helping his daughter who played for the Belles juniors.
-
Had a good drink with ST in the concourse at West Ham away. He was due before the beak shortly after on some charge or other that I won't go into.
Always good for a laugh, that lad.
I used to have a bit of a shit hairdo a good few years back and he started calling me "Sebastian" after the Little Britain character. I trekked all the way to Plymouth on a Tuesday night for a league cup game (lost 2-0 IIRC). Took our lass for the trip and a day in Cornwall on the Wednesday. No sooner had we walked into the ground than I heard a shout of "Yes Prime Minister"! echoing through the concourse.
-
Dave Barsby is one I see a lot at away games he use to breed dogs I bought a golden retriever of him 8 year back for £550, I now see him a little bit worst for ware at the away games think he likes a drink
-

He's not on a lifetime ban, keeping his nose clean now. Did see him and his nephew at Newport friday night.

Aye , he's a proper mod/ scooter boy. Those mutton chops are a right statement! I always notice him too.
-
Fat Dan started the Retford branch up with me in 1981, in the days i was a shy young man lol, he was at Carlisle with me last night with his son Max, they sit just on back row near press box in west stand, used to live in Misterton, but moved to Lincoln a few years ago, was my best man all those years ago.......

Ian Salter from Barnby-Dun has been going home & away for years, also followed England all over the world,a top bloke, also puts on coaches several times a season which run from the Stag Inn,Didn't see him at Carlise last night but usually see "Wobble" think he gets free train travel from working on the railways, always had plenty to drink hence the nickname,Tony Radley also a England regular & red faced George who if you don't see him you will usually hear him......Some top blokes follow the Rovers & long may it continue.

When I was on my England service the likes of salt was allways close by ,likes of radley, megga, bisto, mark Rodgers, liquid Len, jeffcot soon all became part of the same serious drinking squad on England trips all from Doncaster
There is one name there that has left a lasting impression on all of us during are England away days.
BISTO > > > one boring 0-0 game at a freezing Olympic stadium in Helsinki Finland I will never 4get.
It's hardy explain how cold was during that game ,I was struggling for sure as was liquid Len with the coldness and it's not even half time.all the England fans were struggling with the cold.
At half time liquid says 'where the fcuk is bisto' then I notice to the right of us there was something happening within all the England fans ' my guess is that he is bang in the middle of that commotion over there'
After a few mins it turns out all the England fans are pissing them sens laughing ,so me and liquid get up to take a look and I kid you not bisto had de clothed himself stark bollock naked and was hanging
off the fencing like a monkey with all on show.Thing is with bisto is that he is hung like a horse and his old man was flopping about all over the shop playing slap stick comedy with his stomach.
Even the police from Finland did not quite know what to do.what is just as funny is that every time
Bisto did stripp off he allways folded us clothes up and placed in a nice neat pile ,that was his army training we guess.
All the England fans came to us and said ' your mate is at it again god your mate is great etc etc'
Liquid lost the plot and said ' well if you think he is that great you take the fcuker and look after him'
We got bisto dressed up and decided to leave the ground as it was far too cold,we had to climb out of
the ground and not in for a change ,we fond a local curry house and plotted up there.

Aye , he's a proper mod/ scooter boy. Those mutton chops are a right statement! I always notice him too.
Maybe not same guy but other bloke I have been seeing for years and years and thinks still goes is double denim bloke who I think was former main stander. Wears a flat cap back to front and always has big hooped gold earring. Beard as well I think. Quite short. Been wearing same get up since 90s at least. Proper long-standing supporter.

Is this bloke really tall and has suedehead grade two all over cut? See him at lots of away games. Probably in his 40s?
-

I suspect that's the bloke I've HEARD at many away game, sat just behind him and his lass? at Yeovil. Short curlyish hair, about 60, great to have at sea in the fog.

Ha, Griff' ll be happy with that! He's a wee bit past his 40's. Legend of a man though, part of my drinking squad!
Good to see Barsby getting a mention earlier as well!

Likes to pair up his denim with thick padded plaid check shirt. Reckon I have seen him for three decades now with same gear!

Could be me but don't see that big lad who hung around with Tisso and the rest during conference years. Was on the C5 documentary back in late 90s as a youth. Carried some timber and had tattoo of Rovers.
-
I know who you mean about the big lad with the Rovers tattoo, sat next to him for the first 5years at the Keepmoat. He still goes but not as often, got a couple of young lads now. His brother in law goes to nearly every match ,but he's a big of a maggot

There's one bloke with an astonishingly loud voice who goes with his wife - I've been near him a couple of times at away games but hadn't seen him at a home game until the Crewe game at home. I normally go in the South but was in the East, just in front of the Prem Club. He was across the aisle, a couple of rows in front. One of the greeters for the club was walking past him just as one of the players got an earful (could have been an earful or could have been praise, both delivered at volume 11) and almost fell over. I'd put him at 60 odd as well, short grey hair.

Nick beech
Fat man
Scrapyard
Alan ginner Edwards
Wardy
Lister
Boring joe
All of the above are long standing rovers lads, think al Edwards is on a longer run than half pint Charle;in terms of not missing a home game.
I haven't seen wardy in years, sure he had a brother who worked in one of the record shops in town? Scrapyard I see occasionally but not at the rovers.
Another one who deserves a mention is big Paul tyres, he's been going years and years. Even back in the old school days of ken avis' bus
-
Some absolutely belting nicknames in this thread, they don't make them like that anymore. I have no idea who any of these fellas are, but personal favourites just on account of their name:
Boring Joe
Crackerjack
Junior Jockey
Mega
Pugsy
Two Bob Shame
-
Except for 'fat man', 'fat boy' and variants thereof which have cropped up a few times. That only narrows it down to half the crowd.

Bats still goes regularly, Wardy less often these days as he's got a young daughter
-
Does that kid with fluffy sideburns still go? Mervin I think he's called, paralytic after 3 shandys?

Fat Dan always got serenaded on the bus to the tune of "he's a Japanese boy"
-
Dave Barsby is one I see a lot at away games he use to breed dogs I bought a golden retriever of him 8 year back for £550, I now see him a little bit worst for ware at the away games think he likes a drink
What a horrible thought!
I'm imagining some poor Golden Retriever tied around a kitchen table!
-
And how many double denim lads are there ?
Cos none of the ones mentioned sound like Pikey off retford bus
-
That's naughty

What happened to Puppy? Appeared from nowhere had some massive fall outs with Rigo on here & disappeared.
Does that fella who had the red & white hopped car still go?

I had a chat with my Uncle about this thread last night. He lives in South Wales now but in the 60's & early 70's he was a regular at Belle Vue. Some of the names he remembered from those days were John Harvey, Mick Dodds, Winston (he told me a cracking tale involving Winston and an away game at Darlington in the 60's that's probably for another thread), Cyril who drank in the Beechers in Cantley and was apparently hard as nails, my own personal favourite Mungo Terry (yes really) and a young fella in the late 60's who they christened Hong Kong Bob. At every single match he would tell anyone who listened that he was moving to Hong Kong. Everyone thought he was talking b*llocks as he clearly wasn't quite a full shilling but sure enough, after attending virtually every Rovers home game over a couple of seasons he abruptly, and completely, disappeared off the radar
-
That's him the sideburns kid
-
Ricky Hatley the bloke who wears the Jamaican raster hat who follows Sheffield United but goes Rovers away games when he cant make it to United games, he goes with big ginner and the lad called Percy the Penguin who works on trains at Donny station, I've not seen Ricky for a while
-
Ricky Hartley the bloke who wears the Jamaican raster hat who follows Sheffield United I've not seen Ricky for a while
Always in town, and supports Wednesday anyway
-
Few other characters, some not seen for while.
Bloke we call 'Der Kaiser' as he thinks he is tactical genius. Always shouting at players by names no other folk has ever called them, like he is their mate. Think it was him who his meathead son punched him at any away game once. Orient I think.
Ancient old bloke used to stand on Pop Side with walking stick. Known to one and all as 'Parkaman'.
Jack the lad youth with broken front tooth. Always at away games in the middle of the action.

If it's the same bloke who used to stand around halfway on the Popside, then I'm pretty sure I saw Parkaman depart the Keepmoat earlier this season on a mobility scooter (*insert geriatric Mod reference here*)

DN3 has obviously never had the pleasure of buying him a half otherwise he would of had a chorus of nah nah nah of Ricky.
-
Rick Hartley was a Sheffield weds fan but turned up at donny games many a time.
Recall when we played York away during the miners strike back in the 1980s on a Sunday day.must have been about 60 donny lads who went on the last train to York on the Saturday night ,then we all broke into the ground after climbing over the gates at silly o'clock in the morning.
We was all fcuking about on the pitch scoring ghost goals as we had no ball in the pitch black .then after about 10 mins a light went on in the York main stand ,the fight and frenzy to climb back out of the ground was a classic.
We all trooped off back to train station where rick Hartley had turned up with mud all over his shoes as he had walked it from donny taking short cuts thro field after field.
We all slept on yoke station that night all over the place.
Percy was from cantley now lived just outside town and he got a banning order about 20 years ago and never really went back into the ground, but I think he was sat in the pub with many others for recent grimsby town game.
Ginger ,he used to go on my coaches all the time and was a big rovers fan and just like Percy he got banned and never went back into the ground .no idea what he is upto today.
Rick Hartley ginner and another donny lad who's name slips me we all seen together waking thou town by clock corner heading for train station at 09:30 on the Saturday morning of the first Doncaster v Leeds early kick off at KMS shouting ' WE ALL FCUKING HATE LEEDS'
and they all was as pissed as newts .

Carlisle away, he's probably on the last years of being on the register. Ran down a train naked after shitting in a tissue, and supposedly smearing it somewhere too. He's not been spotted in years though, would have deffo been the favourite for the Leyton Orient toilet saga.
-
And how many double denim lads are there ?
Cos none of the ones mentioned sound like Pikey off retford bus
Top bloke pikey, think the name came from him wearing a Pickering Town hat, and not what Rotherham and Barnsley fans see us as.
There's another double denim bloke, wears a flat cap always turned backwards, seen him numerous times over the years.
There's an older bloke who I always see who wears specs, wears a bomber jacket and jeans with massive turn ups too.
-
Christ how drunk can one get

I used to see him at England away games, managed to sort some tickets out for him now and again. He's not been seen there either.

Think he got into some bother in Donny, last I heard he was supposedly running a pub in Lincoln.
-
Ginner was at the Morecambe game, or at least near the ticket office when I walked past.
Cracking lad but had a few issues recently, some of them all to public via facebook videos.
I believe the toilet gate perpetrator has already been mentioned on this thread.

Lol! You're not having a good day are you DN3?!

I remember going to the Torquay game away first game after going up as champions we took about 2000, the beach was full of singing Rovers fans, most made there way to a pub up a long back street that went up the back of Woolworth some pinched a load of boxes of bananas from the said shop and the police followed the trail of banana skins leading to where the rovers fans where, the lads that took them was Archie Swayo Roge Cotton Winstan and all them i was one of them but i was there a bit later, the police came and wanted to know who took them some one said they was in the toilets, but by the time the filth had gone in they had all got out of the window LOL, so they came back out and seid we will say who took them and they grabbed 5 fans and arrested them i was one of them, they took us to the sells over 2 nights then to court on the Monday we all got fined £50 and had to hitch our way home

He lives in or near Wakey and comes with family.
-
Does anyone know the name of the guy who goes to games now, must be about 60/70, he has slick black hair - kind of molded on his head with brylcreem (set fast) - in a John Travolta grease lightning type of way, constantly has his tan on max, and wears a kind of a sheep-skin coat and is generally dressed like somekind of 1950s teddy?

Does any body remember the Flicker Brothers who stood in the middle of popside OBV? Two middle aged guys who ate toffees throughout the game and delighted in rolling up their wrappers and flicking them at random people in the crowd and the act all nonchalent as the 'victim' looked around for a perpetrator. Ive seen the one with the parrot nose at the Keepmoat but alas not his partner in crime.
-
Remember Captain Pocket from the 60s pop side at Belle Vue.
He always wore the same Mac and flat cap and had one hand permanently in his pocket.
He had a lazy eye as well.
-
Forgot about check shirt, flat cap man. Not seen him in years. To be fair to the man he was wearing tight jeans before all these young ens started.
-
I remember a chap who used to stand between the tunnels in the main stand who used to keep saying.come on Rovers lads one goal 2 points. The 2 points tells you how long back it was 😊

Seen him reasonably recently. Either earlier this season or maybe last.
Obviously he was in same get up.

Another bloke who is a regular and I think still goes is short fella in his 50s with big thick milkbottle glasses. Think he travels lot on coaches. Looks a bit like rodent.

Oy! That sounds like me!!

The latest terrace fashion disaster is not the double denim mustache combo, its the re-emergence of the trench coat.

Better a trench coat than trench foot.😉

Me and the lad have spoken to him a few times, in fact I saw him a Carlise on way to the ground he is a very nice gentleman
-
In the disastrous 1966/67 season there was a lad called Mick; long blond hair and came from Conisborough.
I think that he got to every game that season on the Yorkshire Traction bus.
He used to buy a supporter's club badge at every ground, his Rovers scarf ended up covered in them.
I don't think that I ever saw him again after that season.
-
Another face from past is Richard Haley, bloke who was prominent during Richardson period. Think he had a post office and last I heard of him he was standing for Tories in council elections. Don't think I have seen him at Rovers in well over ten years.

I see him most weeks in the East Stand
-
Ha. Probably explains why then.
Genuine question. Why does anyone go in Easts Stand if they don't have kids or in posh seats? Always seems dead and they get sun in their eyes.
-
That point about the east stand and the sun allways plays on my mind
-

he still goes to the games and away now and again
-
We were going to get seats in East Stand when we moved to KMS however we noticed the sun and went in West instead
-
The sun isn't such a big issue. It does happen, but only on a couple of occasions each season. And that's usually at the start or end of each season as the sun sits higher in the sky. Its usually too bloody cloudy to be an issue anyway!
-
