VSC Brothers and Sisters............
« on October 13, 2013, 11:21:21 am by Nudga »
One of our own on here is ill in hospital which must be a massive strain on himself and his family.

Can we, through the VSC PayPal donations set something up where we can help with transport cost' for hoola's wife.

If we can, I would like to offer £30. I know it's not much in the grand scheme of things but every little will help.

VSC Directors! Can this be done.

Jeez fellas now you have broken me down in tears. I've been giving it the hard Yorkshireman bit in here for days.
I know you mean well but please we are financially OK. I merely sought to express my feelings and fears amongst friends. If anyone on here is holding back from sorting yourselves out........then please do it now !
There is a Chordoma charity if anyone feels inclined to help find a cure for this nasty barsteward of a cancer. Trust one of us to get it , typical that's what makes us all so special . must go or they will see me blubbing :(

Can I say this with a vsc and personal hat on? I know Steve and I think it would be good to do something.  I'm pretty sure we can arrange between us on the forum to raise some money for the charity he has mentioned and also raise some awareness.

People up for that?

As some of you may know (you all should we told you often enough), Ponte Ricky and I (and Bill) did a charity bike ride to Brentford for 'a bit of fun' to coincide with the last away match of last season. We have already begun discussing doing the same again this season, to Leicester.

I have not spoken to Ricky yet but I suggest that we do this season's ride in aid of Hoola's Chordoma Charity. Those of you who wish too can ride, those who don't wish too can support - although as it is only 80 miles and I am giving you plenty of notice....

Good luck Hoola,  I am going through something  similar over here in the States, I was diagnosed five weeks ago with cancer of the bladder.  I have always been a supporter over here of nationalized medicine as I thought over here they are just a money making operation.

However, since I was diagnosed, I have had four visits to my specialist, 2 Cat scans, a cystoscopy and two biopsies prior to starting a chemo and  robotic surgery which I am assured will be completed before Christmas.

I sincerely hope you are getting the same kind of treatment and that you are back up and running as soon as possible.  They can't keep a good Rovers supporter down for long.

RTID.

Thanks for the thoughts RedJ, mine was detected five weeks ago and led to me cancelling my trip to see the Burnley and Leicester games and reconnecting  with my daughter after many years apart. As Hoola says it is a barsteward, but I have great faith in my Doc's over here.

Hoola, I replied to your PM but did it twice, I am not going mad, just not used to these replies. Hope all goes well tomorrow, I'll be thinking of you.

And,  YES, please get checks everybody, mine started over a year ago but I only got diagnosed 5 weeks ago.  There is more hope these days, but better to not have to play on that hope.

Thanks Donnydub

Your thoughts need to be with Hoola as he appears to be in a much worse position than me.  He has sent me PM's and is undergoing surgery today, ( we are six hours behind ), apparently his op will slow him down.

He may not be fit enough for the Rovers first team, but he is a cert to get a game with the Blades.

 Thanks  RTID.

As I said, Hoola is much more in need of everyone's thoughts and prayers at this time. Especially as he may have to turnout for the Blades.

Thanks for the pm Hoola. Really pleased all went well. Obviously, being six hours behind it comes as old news to me.   By the way the Owls are now fighting the Blades for your services.

I've donated to the fund via the PayPal link.  Well done for setting this up.
It's at times like this when real issues become the focus of attention and rightly so.
Good luck in your battle Hoola.

Thanks Drover, glad to hear the good news regarding your wife.  Hoola has had his first major op and seems to have come through OK.

I think what has helped is that we have agreed that no matter how hard they ask he is NOT going to the Weeds.

I do think that everyone should be checked on a regular basis, something which I didn't do, I have to admit. I thought I had the symptoms of a Kidney stone, but am pleased they found it now.
