National Poetry Day: A Poem in support of Deano

           Deano.... Deano.... Deano

Wish folk would get off Dean Saunders back,
Some won’t be happy until he’s got the sack.
Fans are so fickle with their contradicting views,
He’s a legend when we win, a villain when we lose.

The managers task is so hard to bear,
Wants players to be proud of the shirts they wear.
If they fail to turn up or have a bad game.
The managers the one who takes most of the blame.

The budget’s been cut to a miserly sum,
But he remains positive, passionate and fun.
He’s made some great signings, of that we agree,
Not spending much money, a few on a free.

A little times needed to make the team gel,
But it’s plain to see they all get on well.
So please be patient and cut him some slack,
Stop the boos and get off his back.

The Barmy Army chant his name,
Before, after and during the game.
Follow their lead and get behind the man,
He’s trying his best, doing all that he can.
