Title: Killgallon
Post by: fudgepacker on November 15, 2011, 01:32:24 pm
According to Sky he's looking for a loan move to the championship. From what little I saw of him he looked decent. Wonder if he's on our radar?

If he`s on our radar, we need to get it fixed, it`s faulty!

Can't see Sunderland letting him come for £2k a week this time round!

Personally thought he got a raw deal last time and is a much better player than we saw, having said that he would want to play left side so that would mean leaving gorgeous out.

Didn't impress me when he was here. No doubt about his ability but he never looked interested.

Ask yourself this, why has no other Championship club got him on loan, since his spell with us even though he has no future with Sunderland?

You've got the think though that this must be his last chance to prove he can play at the top level. If he doesn't impress or seem bothered in the championship he's not going to play top flight football again.

He has got a great track record but from what we saw last season, he must rank alongside our very worst loan signings.

One possible difference I discern between the Killgallon type loanee and the Willy McKay type is ... Willy's guys are out of favour or out of contract .. Killgallon just out of motivation.

How can you deduce that he isn't out of favour, exactly?.. he hasn't played for Sunderland in God knows how long.. seems like that's out of favour to me.

Didn't look like he could be arsed when he was here. No thanks.

Keith Hill doesn't do 'big name' signings, does he?

According to Radio Sheff they are looking at Reece Brown from Man U for this weekend too

Hard to pass comment on Brown really. His only real contribution was SOD's moment of madness at Derby where he was played in midfield. To disastrous effect.

Out-of-favour Sunderland defender Matt Kilgallon is set to be loaned out to a Championship side. Doncaster boss Dean Saunders is keen to take the former Sheffield United player but six other clubs are also thought to want the 27-year-old.

Geez not sure I'd want him back.

What where Brown had played for England under 20s at the U20s World Cup in the summer? It wasnt the position, he simply proved he wasnt ready for Championship football, hence he didnt play again and went quietly back to Old Trafford.

Fair enough, although just glancing at the Man Ure official site it does say that: \"Reece Brown is a tall and very powerful central defender, who can also play at full-back and in midfield.\"

not motivated and out of favour ... horse before cart no doubt .. he is undoubtedlynstill talented but will need re motivating and if the chemistry works with Dean Saunders it could resurrect his career . He was clearly not in favour with SOD!

It might reignite his career, but the little we saw out of him against the wages he'd expect tell me the punt's not value for money.

Our defence needs more of a beast than Killgallon, he seems to be a player who thrives when the team are playing well but not got the heart for a fight.

We are signing this big bas**rd from St Etienne in January. Could perhaps play them together?
