Aston Villa striker on loan
-
Starts today.
-
My FM 2014 star signing!
Ill just add this is a great sign from the board, yet again backing PD to bring in faces rather than be down to our bare bones whilst William is suspended.
-
Poor goal scoring record. Be surprised if he brings much to the table.
-
A point to prove then.
-
At 1-0 down can Dickov show the backing will pay off. Need to turn this around quickly rovers

They are godlike 1-1 52% possession and 10-2 shots........we weill win this.

Godlike 1 you are the most negative poster on here! Have a bit of faith

Cracking performance from young Jordan today, no surprise we went flat when he went off
-
He's got everything this guy pace, power and a fantastic work ethic young C Brown in the making.
-
Good performance from the lad. Great work rate but doesn't look like a natural goal scorer. Coming off injuried late may mean a quick return to Villa.
-
Cramp.
-
Only cramp maybe worth keeping till end of season could work well with billy and give browny a much needed rest for a game
-
He's the second Jordan we have had from Villa, we also had Jordan Mutch. I agree he had a good game today, especially not having trained with the team!
-
Jordan mutch was from Birmingham
-
Jordan mutch was on loan from birmingham
-
I stand corrected.... Same City, near but no cigar!!
-
Impressed with him, looks a handful.
-
He did very well.
I particularly like how he clearly had no idea which end the away fans were in and applauded the Barnsley fans as well as ours. lol
-
He gave a little 2-1 when he went off hope we can keep him till he end of the season just to have an option
-
To say he'd had one training session yesterday he linked up with play very well, especially with Copps and Browny. Another very good signing. Well done to the board.
-
Plus its nice to see names being kept off the radar until its done and dusted the major leak appears plugged
-
As for Jordan Bowery,i didn't go today, but listened to the game,he sounded full of energy and enthusiasm, and seemed to be mentioned a lot working hard, but didn't seem to get many chances to score,is that how his game went today?
He had a great chance when he rounded their keeper..but he went too wide and snatched at the opportunity and ended up over stretching, resulting in getting cramp and going off. :(
-
Said it before and I'll say it again, it doesn't matter who we have up front if we don't get the ball to them in good positions, and again this was a problem. How many saves did Luke Steele have to make?

Bit harsh .............
I think you will find I was stating pure facts at the time. If Barnsleys 2nd goal had been allowed I don't think we would have taken anything from that game.
Note I couldn't. Make it today so thought I write something else to see who would bite;-)
I'm still not convinced by Dickov mind
-
I'm convinced that D'Urso chalked off their second because he realised he'd dropped a huge bollock on the penalty. Justice of a kind, but exceptionally poor refereeing.
-
I liked him. thought he was good, bit of a handful fir their defence. nade himself a nuisance by getting in the keepers way resulting in him dropping it into copps feet for thr 1st goal
-
Err, I think you'll find that was their centre half Ricky.
Just to add my 2p's worth, I thought he looked a bit rusty. Hopefully with a game or two under his belt he'll be ok.
I am a bit concerned that he's too similar to Brown but not as good and not to be played together unless we're desperate, which we are up front without Billy and Robinson
-
Bowery's a big strong aggressive type who bullies defenders. Had he been able to play all game I very, very much doubt the game would have been drawn, and reckon Rovers would have scored three or four.......maybe five!
-
He looks to me like he's been brought in to provide some cover for Brown. I doubt they'll play together much once Sharp and Robinson are available.
-
Browny looked like he'd run himself into the ground yesterday! I think we need him for the Yeovil game after that give him a rest so he's fresh for the last part of the season.
-
He's got a week off before that DTD.
I don't think anyone else gets a week off between shifts. Had we had a game Tuesday maybe, but a week should be plenty of time for a professional sportsman
-

He most certainly was on my Radar. ( Rumour Mill....Darius Henderson thread).
-
He looked a big lad, fast, tenacious and strong - and if we can fit him in to a system that suits his play i think he'll flourish. As someone else said, he didn't really work alongside The Brown man, they seemed too similar.
I hope he gets his chance to play in a few games where we play a bit more football than we did on Saturday!

Not sure what you do for work but I'm sure you don't run 9-10 miles each shift.
-
he might not score many, but we play better when he's in the team.
Isn't CB our current top scorer this season?
-
He has 8 in all comps doesn't he? And two that disappeared after the fiasco down at Charlton - that'd have had him on 10 now!

No i think Brown is top scorer with five goals, isn't he?
Who do you think CB is?
-
Centre back silly.
-
I like the look of the lad, hungry, aggressive & puts himself about. I predict he will notch tomorrow.
-
Just listened to his interview and he comes across as a bubbley character and keen to do very well. Looks like he exudes excitement of the prospect of getting more first team football.
I thought he played well in combination with Browny. Just because they are both big lads doesn't mean they are the same type of footballer. I hope he can provide that little bit 'extra' we need to convert those chances that come our way.

No i think Brown is top scorer with five goals, isn't he?,Brown if injury free will score you ten a season in this league,he doesn't score many, but he contributes massively,he takes the whacks, smacks round the back of the head etc,but doesn't lose his cool,he does the donkey work up there, that takes the strain off the rest, some of the games,he's totally dominating both centre halfs, that's how Coppinger,Duffy etc get more space to do damage.
The match at Bramall Lane last season should have been video'd as a Mester's Masterclass. Time after time after time he was floored with elbows in the back of the head or knees in the back. Time after time he pulled himself off the floor and chucked himself into another challenge. That was the first time I saw Alan Warboys in him, and that side of his game has become even more pronounced since.
A Rovers Legend without doubt.

That's a good and fair comparison BST. I watched Brown at Colchester early last season and thought it was like watching Warboys in so many ways. He took the punishment like a man, ran himself ragged, showed plenty of skill in his layoffs, kept defenders busy throughout and made tons of space for everyone around him. I wouldn't pick Browny ahead of Alan Warboys (he was John Wayne in football boots) at No.9 in a fantasy XI, but I wouldn't hesitate to call him up as his stand-in.
-
What beautiful descriptions of both SP. Alan Warboys 'John Wayne in footy boots'. Brilliant! I'd never have thought of it, but it's spot on.
I suppose the major difference between the two is that Warboys scored goals. Lots of goals. Remember Smash and Grab?

I thouiht he offered nothing, but to be fair to him it's not his fault,. The rest of the side have to provide the strikers with chances and they are failing to do so.
Watch the dvd's if you doubt it, how many chances did he get?
-
Dickov says both Bowery and Brown played on Saturday despite being ill. Bowery wasn't allowed near the squad on Friday night.
-
Does not show much faith in cotterill if playing ill players ahead of him
