Well, he ran to about 60 yards from goal, slowed down a bit, sort of pulled his leg back (not sure which one) , then kicked the ball really hard towards the net. The ball flew through the air, went past the goalie and into the net. It was bloody great.

Yep, you're right. Missed the flippin' train due to flippin' work!
Just thought I'd have a stab in the dark and try and get it right. Is it stab , or shot? I'm never sure?

It wasn't from 60 yards out though, that's just silly.

It was more like 720 yards out. He was practically in Wolverhampton when he struck it.
