Amazing how all your grumbles can disappear when it becomes real isn't it? It's been quite unreal for the previous 14+ years pud but it never stopped you from voting for them, aye? 4

Viking Chat / Re: Atalanta v DRFC« Last post by DMnumber4 on Today at 01:29:09 pm »Kudos to winning their first European trophy last night and ending a season long uneaten run for Leverkusen instyle. The fortunes of clubs according to local population and / or crowd sizes hasn't been relevant for quite a while now. Take the crowd sizes and success of AFC Bournemouth and Bradford City, for example. Atalanta also seem to be owned by Antonio Percassi (worth: $1.6bn) and Stephen Pagliuca (worth: $4.9bn). 7

Off Topic / Re: Brexit and key issues« Last post by danumdon on Today at 01:17:59 pm »The last thing Labour should be looking to prioritise is anything to do with Brexit right after the election. That's all for another day(year)
People will want to see the early shoots of recovery from a torrid period that many have had to endure, big ticket items that will just cost taxpayers more will not be welcomed. They need to be smart and think even smarter. Things like restructuring health and social care so people can see things like waiting lists coming down and better responses to social care, should be achievable relatively soon. If they could get the teaching profession to work with them to raise standards all around, this would be a massive boost to a large number of younger people who are growing up in a time of massive change all around them. Education is a precursor to a great many things in society and it needs to evolve in the correct direction. Too many kids leaving education not ready for the real world that has suddenly hit them, some financial and budgeting lessons and advice for leavers would not go amiss. An attempt to fix the housing market so young people can hope to be able to get on the housing ladder should feature large. Some restructuring as to how local council's achieve their legal requirements needs drastic action. If they're to be presented with a larger devolved budget then the whole structure of the means to distribute this needs attention, far too many councils are failing in their duties, not just through a lack of budget but with incompetent management, needs urgent attention. Basically don't hit the ground with big demands of more of taxpayers money, that will go down like a lead balloon. Needs to see some smarts from them. 9

How does that work? You do realise that when a company becomes insolvent there is a huge amount of cost to pay, you can't just ignore the debt. 10
Viking Chat / Re: Rovers goalscorer quiz« Last post by Chris Black come back on Today at 01:14:50 pm »How many on that list have also scored against us? Off the top of my head:Alfie May and Billy Sharp have I think. Andy Williams maybe? Can't remember Marquis ever getting one against us, always seems to have a stinker. Marquis scored a 90th minute goal for Portsmouth in a 2-1 defeat for Portsmouth at the Keepmoat on 2 March 2021. Reece James and Fejiri scored for us. |
