Yup, from the t**tterverse, but it's from THE LAW.

@brannyrovers #DRFC update for DRFC v Blackpool, as of this morning 4924 home tickets sold, 600 away. Jo

That sounds alright...

I think that nearly 5,000 + 4,000+ season ticket holders + 600 away is a pretty good showing already. There will be more tickets sold (both home and away), so it should be a healthy start, no?

But yeah, let's knock it.  :headbang:

If I remember correctly its the same account that got a few wrong last season reporting that only 5500 were at the Swindon game when in fact it was actually over 8000

Does the tickets sold figure not normally include season ticket sales?

That would be a very good point, tbf. I had assumed that "tickets sold" would mean "tickets sold" rather than "tickets sold plus season tickets".

Apologies for taking it too literally, if I have.

Ticket sales will also increase if we make signings the ones that don't come regular will be looking at transfer activity and at the minute will be opting to stay away we need the investment massively to make a few signings to get arses on the seats.

Tickets sold usually does include STH's. if we've sold 4000 ST's that means we've sold 900 on top of that.
Plenty of time left, but I have to say its disappointing

Awful.

Oh for f**ks sake Frosty!!!

Folks are still buying during the week. and still will be right up until kick off.

More will buy if we have more news of player signings.  Folks are on holiday etc etc.

Are you going to berate our attendance figures ALL season????  The attendances will be what they will be.

And you really think this will a) help increase our support, or b) help support our team to win more games?

Don't forget with the introduction of the cash turnstile people do not now have to buy tickets prior to the game.

Its only Tuesday !
I always buy my tickets on the day because I never know how many of my mate's are going the game so I try and get us seats together on the day. There always seems to be loads more people buying on the day aswell. Going to see a football game can still be a spontaneous decision and not everyone has their tickets weeks in advance.

Another frost moanathon then?

Ticket sales will be high this week as a lot realise when the season actually starts etc first crowd I expect about 8-9 thousand and now we've got pay on the gate we'll see an increase in walk ups now.

Wait until after the game and if the attendance was low (in your opinion) then have your moan if it makes you feel better.
Your moaning about a low attendance for a game that has yet to happen. Get a life pal.

Poor compared to what?

Compared to our first season back in the championship 5 years ago?

Compared to Getting promoted from the 4th division 10 years ago?

Relegated to the conference 15 years ago?

More folks will turn up if we are playing well and if we are winning.  Let's see the season start first.

The attendance is realistic FFS...

A lot of people might be thinking do i go now, and watch rovers with a thread bare squad with no quality championship striker or keeper, with no idea what the hell is going off behind the scenes.

Or do i save my money and wait till this saga is over in around 4-5 weeks time and start handing the money over to watch a team worthy of the ticket value.

Not saying its entirely my point of view, but i would hardly blame anyway if that was the case

I disagree if I'm honest, I know what this club is and in the summer, with admittedly uncertainty and little in the way of big signings, with an earlier start to the season on raceday it'd be a good achievement.  Match up crowds to racing days (that's something you can do given your crowd obsession) you'll probably see a correlation to a drop.

Wonder where all the fans from the Notts County game went.

There was much more at stake at that game - you'll always get a bigger crowd in those circumstances.

Cant see what you winging about how many years have you followed rovers and seen them have an attendance of over 10k? even at wemberly and cardiff they couldnt sell out! Rovers won't be attracting of 10k until they've had a year or two in the prem, within an hours drive from donny there are teams who have won the old first division, the premiership, the champions league, fa cup! Historically over the past few generations the people of Doncaster have gone to watch these team taking their sons and grandsons with them! It's why round Gloucestershire loads support villa, reading, wolves driving past gloucester city, Cheltenham town, Swindon and Bristol! Many say on here it's not about been a successful team but it makes a massive difference and those teams with a history of achievement have the most supporters! Like when people say moneys not everything until they can't pay the bills it may not be everything but its important!
