Hi RD,

We are talking about pretty much all of the content on the website (as opposed to the design as this is controlled by FLI), DRFC want to know what the fans want to see on the website.

Exactly, that and much more, pretty much anything! The club are open to any ideas , the only restriction is the design which is controlled by the Football League Interactive.

At the risk of having a moan... the actual content isn't bad, it's the frequency that it's updated.  Would it be overly difficult to update the tickets sold every day (or two or three) for example?  What are the moans here?  How many tickets we sold, how many away fans were there, home and especially away tickets in a prominent position, buy overpriced tat online from the shop and is Chris Brown injured again.  None of it is difficult, it just needs to be tasked to people and kept upto date.  Transfer gossip and the like should be ignored completely until there's a picture of said player on the Keepmoat pitch with a scarf above his head!

We dont want to know about transfers till they are done but news like Sully leaving should be on there faster. Take another example people have had to ask at the meeting about the reserves but I saw on the Mansfield official site news that their reserves first game was against donny and all the fixtures too this was nearly a month ago.Have a look what is on Donny s site nothing. Whoever is supposed to update the site is useless.

As I used to work in retail, we were always trying hard to keep our website up to date, while at the same time serve customers in the store. This became a problem for us as the site was huge, with 5 depts. selling different gear on the web.
One of our Southern competitors though, always seemed to be on top of their game and really up to date with new products, the latest and best prices etc. etc.
I asked one of my visiting reps how they did it, and he told me they employed two people whose specific job was to keep the site fully maintained and up to date.
These guys had it nailed, they designed their own webrat to monitor competitors prices constantly, with their system automatically updating if anyone tried to undercut their price. The top and bottom of this is that they had phenomenal web sales and have been incredibly successful at it.

Why can't we (on a smaller scale of course) have someone dedicated to running the official site on a daily basis, keeping us updated with all the latest news and gossip. It ain't rocket science is it?

All good ideas - I would urge you all to respond to the original request, meet up with the SLOs and the media team, and hopefully improve the situation for everyone  :aok:
