Exactly - do away with that rule and clubs won't be so eager to sell at overinflated prices when they don't have the guarantee that the buying club won't welsh on them. Same with the agents. First step to sanity in the game.

Plus, once everybody has a level playing field HMRC will be co-operative with clubs in genuine trouble. That's all HMRC is asking - a level playing field. If a club genuinely has to offer so many pence in the popund, it should be across ALL their debts, football debts included.

Having said that, it's the St Johns I feel sorry for by being continually shafted by clubs in administration. I think they ought to make clubs pay in advance for their services before the season starts. If a club doesn't have a receipt for St John coverage for the whole of the forthcoming season, they don't get their league badge. Simple.
