The squad dickov left us with after he was sacked was awful and expensive

That’s what I was thinking of. Gary Mackenzie, Taylor-Sinclair and Richard Chaplow. *Shudders*

Richard Chaplow was unplayable on his day............. unfortunately that day was back in 2011

Dickov's recruitment after we went down from the Championship was largely terrible and we had a bloated, poor squad when Ferguson took over. Was covered in depth a month or two ago on here. He certainly was unfortunate with our Championship season though, I don't think we deserved to go down.

I agree
I was one of his biggest defenders after that season.
But his recruitment after relegation was awful

I can't recall you, must be suffering a memory bubble, were you centre back? Anyway, that would explain our failure.

Wonder if we’ve moved on from Jamie now ??

Where would Ward fit in now? We have Sadlier, May, Taylor, Ennis, Blair, copps all who I see as playing behind the striker we are getting.

I don’t think the signs are good for Blair

Blair can cover defense, midfield and on the wing.  Always gives 100% and if not in the starting line up is a great utility option for our bench..

I imagine Ward was looking for first team football and we saw him as a squad player. Can't argue with both parties moving on if so.

I don't know what else Blair has to do to get a run out as a wide forward player, his natural position

Surely no need for Ward now. Taylor can occupy one of the wider positions off the front man (when we get one) and is better than Ward.

It will be harder for him now Raven; Taylor is a different class.

I don't know if Ward is still even training with the club, but make no mistake, he has been and still looked a good player in the game against Hull.
Yes he missed two chances, but he carried the ball over thirty yards  and no Hull defender could get back to him and get a tackle in, and they were very good saves by the keeper.
Only Billy Sharp in his first coming has shown that ability. He has been a better player than everyone we have had over the last ten years in our attack, except for a very few over that period, and has been out of our reach.

I agree he would have added quality to the team, he was good against Hull, should have scored them though!
