This one might have been rushed through with James being injured and Amos called up. Can see him starting at left back tomorrow if it does happen.

Not Rumour Mill time for this....?

It’s in the National press, its hardly a secret

I know - but not every one reads the mail and we have had the rug pulled from beneath us after looking like a deal was done before.... sometimes it pays not to advertise...

I don’t read the mail either but I know about it now.

Told by a reliable source yesterday that this is true unhappy at Wolves and loves DM as a coach

The Mail article says nominal fee (offset by the 30% sell-on clause) which if so is a fantastic bit of business from the club.

Sounds like DM is a big factor with a few signings, like Taylor too.

Please, Daily Mail, let this be true.
If it is, I’ll forgive you for all the other b*llocks you report.

It is true, it’ll just be whether they will be able to agree terms or not

If we do get him, big if, we'd have to go 3 at the back personally not one of Wright Anderson or John should be on the bench and as other have said if we're getting John to play left back it's a waste of time.

We've now got a lot of players who play behind the striker/wide so we'd lose one of those by playing a 343. Also not sure we've been playing it in preseason so would need a bit of time to get it working

Delighted for everyone connected with the club especially Gavin who can rightly feel vindicated that the strategy of try before you buy is bearing fruit - he’s well entitled to feel like Mr Smug - also this shows that DM is a real asset when it comes to attracting promising youngsters - I’m absolutely thrilled

If this does come through it's an example of the exact strategy that has been mentioned (particularly by Silent majority).

We will win some and potentially lose some that go elsewhere. But we can't afford to spend millions on players.

He’d be a brilliant signing. He was really good when he first came in at centre back and he offers something none of our current centre backs have so would compliment whoever he plays next to.

If he does sign with his footballing ability he could be a defensive midfield player aswell. Can get forward and can score. Would be a very good player and can only get better.

He could rightly look to Moore as a centre back who made it to a very good level and can learn from him. Great that he can also be our 9th left back in the squad also.

This would be a brilliant signing. I don’t feel that we would need to go 3 at the back though. With the amount of fixtures we are going to be playing this season, all 3 centre backs will get a lot of playing time. That’s before injuries and suspensions etc. Joe wright unfortunately will always pick up an injury that will keep him out for a period of time

Great news, it shows what an asset DM is that he chooses to come here rather than going to a Championship club. A fantastic signing, welcome home Cameron!

Sounds to me like jamesfrancis02 knows quite a bit about what is happening at the club.

If the report is correct and he's having a medical today then I expect personal terms have already been agreed.

Liam Hoden did report yesterday that, contrary to Darren's press conference statement, the club were trying to push through a deal before Saturday. I presumed that meant Butler but it appears it could be John!

This would be a great signing by the club. No doubt about that. He’s going to be a top player and his value will appreciate.

Hell of a signing if we can pull this one off.

Have been critical of the clubs transfer dealings over the last year or so but this would be a good statement of intent.

Exactly the type of player we should be signing. Can we have Ennis and Kane now please too.  ;)

It's funny isn't it. We all panic in some aspects about transfer dealings but the board have NEVER let us down. Yes we have a lot of loans but what clubs at our level don't? Yes we question contract lengths but again, what clubs at our level do offer lots of long contracts?

But even thinking back over the last few years. Whiteman permanent. Whiteman new contract. Marquis new contract. Fejiri in. This potential signing. Taylor long contract with option (I think?), Reece James, even Paul Downing on loan. They stump up when they need to.

On the other hand, we can look at Gillingham signing 54 players every summer. Where does it get them?

I'm not saying they're perfect by a long shot. We'd all love even more but they are worthy of more respect from some areas of the fan base.
