Title: Fans at Barnsley
Post by: big fat yorkshire pudding on November 14, 2011, 09:42:31 am
Well we've not sold many still at the reduced price so we won't look great again.

Also, are there plans to take the big flags etc?

Apologies in advance for putting a positive spin on things but I've only just this minute purchased mine as there are several of us going and I had to wait for them to go on open sale which is today! So there is plenty of time yet.

6 still to get. How ironic. 6

I can see the figure being similar to last season, although the recent victory, Billy and Diouf lifting the spirits the league table still isnt looking too pleasing.

Not got mine yet and there will be 2 of us going. Like Surrey said they only went on general sale today so should shift a fair few this week.

I'm pretty sure there will be plenty of others buying tickets this week or paying on the day. I'll be going but haven't managed to get tickets yet.

Is it any more on the day?
If not it's cheaper than paying booking fee, postage/travel to KM.
They'll be plenty of hoops around.

Nice and positive on this thread, be good to take a fair few.  Also, wouldn't it be kind of funny to turn up with caravans those that have them, can't help but feel that would actually be quite funny.

If it is pay on the gate can you use sterling or do you have to pay with Gyro?

I've sent a pigeon over to Oakwell this morning and they have fortunately set up a system for us re pay on the day. Effectively, they will take as currency; horses, lucky heather, pegs and now scrap metal.

Thanks to Silent Majority and Ryan for this.

.....by the way, another 5 now going. Tickets still to be pilfered.

Might even turn up with large earings, a drawn on tash and a hankie on my head or even better a pair of riders half mast trousers held up by braces with a tucked in open shirt showing my dirty vest underneath. Fancy dress anyone?

Yorkie been down and got 6 for our clan today too. :)
Prediction 2109 sounds optimistic but I know quite a few who haven't bought yet and of course we have ''un-reserved'' seating . :)

It will be pay on the day, usually is.. and whilst its 'unreserved seating', you cant just sit anywhere.. you'll be fenced in next to the tunnel.
If you are only going to bring 1500 to 2000 you may as well not bother.. thats pathetic, it really is.. no wonder Ryan gets frustrated with you lot.. and I dont mean you guys that ARE going, just the other part-timers.. I mean, come on, the only away south yorks derby for you, at a fair(er) price? And you cant fetch the 5000 that you say turned up a few year ago...
GET THI SENS DARN SITHI.. ;)

Thing is, Ryan gets frustrated cos he knows there's thousands of potential fans in the Yorkshire area... Like those supporters of neighbouring towns who spend quite some time browsing the Rovers Forums   ;)

Oh Ok then! Won't bother then.

Because you will bring thousands and thousands to the Keepmoat won't you? Family day out, convince the kids that the lakeside is the seaside and the swans and canadian geese are seagulls.  :boxing:

Whitey, can I just ask, is every home game of the season family fun day at Barnsley?

And Barnsley brought what? 2000 to us last season?
If you compare each clubs away support as a whole, I think you'll find ours is slightly better than the Dingles.

Just over 2,600 for the Tuesday night game. I think Rovers will take a similar figure for this one.

Probably will cost more if they use their fingers to count on the turnstiles, every 10 will cost you 12.

We must have shifted about 700 tickets today which is good going. Imagibne if we could replicated that tomorrow, Thursday, Friday and on the day. That'd be an impressive turn out.

Am I being cynical or do the fans who pay on the day at Barnsley not count towards the announced attendance?

I will be paying on the day as usual and travelling down with a Boro Dingle - oh what joy....
