Roll call - Rossington Main
« on July 10, 2021, 08:35:28 am by RobTheRover »
Morning all.

Seeing as Rosso have now announced pay in the gate, who's off to Oxford Street this afternoon?  I grew up about half a mile from the ground, and Viva Rovers' dad was one of my PE teachers.

 :scarf:

God, I've missed going to matches.  See you all there!

Still 0-0. Bogle carried on from last season. Can hold up a ball but can't read a pass for shit. Looks like the right winger is Aidan Barlow, anyone know who the left is?

As I say that 1-0 Bogle assists Barlow.

2-0 LW plays it into Close, back to LW who puts it past the keeper but RW (Barlow potentially) steals it on the line.

3-0 Barlow hattrick.

Barlow made some good runs and didn't put a foot wrong really. Oteh 10 mins in looks better than Bogle.

The RW has gone off injured, look like hamstring to me. Hasani's come on.

FT 4-0

Think this is how we ended

Flanagan
Akinola
John
Horton
Colkett
Bailey?
Greaves
Seaman
Hasani
Oteh

Seaman has a powerful shot!

The Rossington keeper, only young and good with his feet.

Definitely Nathan Thomas in the right midfield. I thought he did well. Good close control, pace and a decent cross on him.

I thought a couple of central midfield trialists did ok.

Stand outs for me were our new right back who played very well, Matt Smith has a good final pass and Bostock looked a class above as you'd expect.  Bostock looks much better close up his technical ability and eye for passes is superb. If he can get going under a new manager he'll be some player.

Bostock was decent, can't believe Wellens would consider letting him go, especially for free!

Bogle on the other hand, he seriously needs to learn how to read passes, so he can make the correct movement, otherwise all he's good at is holding it up, which isn't enough. Oteh offered more today and it'd be interesting to see him with different wingers, instead of a fullback and center mid.

I thought Seaman in the second half, and the right back in the first half  played very well so well covered there, John looks a different player as a centre half, as a two team squad with lots of trialists I thought all round we looked decent.
And well done Rossington made it a game although under the cosh quite a bit, played it the right way, a good crowd for them, and hopefully they have a great season.
One thing I will say about Bogle and Bostock they look fitter than they looked on the TV last season.

Bostock ran the game in the 1st half. We shouldn't have any problems defensively and Bogle was.............Bogle.
