Today’s team
COYR
-
Mmm 4 4 2 maybe?
-
Can’t see with players that it will be 442 but I think it could be 4231 or 433 only 6 subs . Ravenhill not there but Darlington game called off because of Covid three players maybe he can’t come near the first team
-
Who will make up a front 3 Cukur Barlow and ?
-
What Liam Hoden thinks the line up will be
COYR
-
Might struggle for legs in the midfield. If we’re going to play well, we need to move the ball quickly and with purpose, with plenty of movement up top. Hope Gilbraith brings that energy.
Just fear it's going to be too pedestrian to get Wednesday on the back foot but, what do I know!
COYR.
-
Think Gardner for this game
-
I’ll argue his commitment to our club. What a w**ker you are Moore.
He talks such banalities.
I hope we beat this team of his.
Give him some grief Rivers supporters.
-
This is going to be a very tough test of both ability and more so character of the players …. Come on Donny- we can do it!!
-
Our commentary gone of again
-
and mine..........................utter crap
-
Our commentary gone of again
Thank god for that, thought I’d gone deaf
COYR
-
Our commentary gone of again
I thought we’d got over these issues, but obviously not, audio comes on 5 mins before KO with a testing one two three, it’s not rocket science to test the equipment earlier
-
You have to listen to their commentators - apparently we are playing mind games?...
-
As soon as ferji turned up it went off
-
You have to listen to their commentators - apparently we are playing mind games?...
Doing my head in listening to them :headbang:
-
probably trod on a wire and now looking for some insulation tape
-
Referee’s set his stall out early.
-
Back on
-
Just wide from Gardner
-
Nice attacking play: Bostock doing well
-
You can change to away commentary or listen on radio Sheefield.
-
Wednesday falling over easily and the officials are buying it every time.
We are looking decent.
-
Harsh yellow card there for Rowe.
The Wednesday player just ran into him.
-
We look far better today than last week
-
Rowe booked for f**k all.
-
Their players are going down fairly easily.
-
Harsh yellow card there for Rowe.
The Wednesday player just ran into him.
Body check definitely a foul
-
Harsh yellow card there for Rowe.
The Wednesday player just ran into him.
Ridiculous. Ref didn’t even give anything, linesman did. No idea why the ref then books him… nonsense.
-
Harsh yellow card there for Rowe.
The Wednesday player just ran into him.
Sounds a ridiculous decision. All commentators said never a yellow as accidental.
-
Ref sounds a homer
-
Iotfa just made the same foul and nothing from the ref
-
Can we stop playing long to Tiago - clearly not his game
-
The home fans are definitely getting anxious so we must be doing OK.
-
Can we stop playing long to Tiago - clearly not his game
I don’t think he’s fully up to speed yet.
-
Galbraith sets up an opportunity which Tiago puts over the bar.
Good chance (apparently).
-
We are growing into this game nicely.
-
We're creating the better chances here so far.
-
Rowe brought down from behind… no booking. The inconsistencies are consistent.
-
Cukur should have buried that
-
I really like what Bostock brings us, I suppose we’ve to thank Moore for him
-
No I agree PDX he isn't, but having watched him im not convinced when he is up to speed, that is his game. I think he needs it to feet, so he can run at his man.
-
Commentators praising our midfield, especially Bostock, and saying we are on top just now.
-
Camembert or whatever his name is falls over of you touch his shirt. He seems very unstable.
-
And another one…. Johnson falls over. Ref books Knoyle. It’s infuriating.
-
Having just flicked to the home commentry, they seem flat in comparison to the beginning of the game, where they were buoyant and confident.
I hate audio only, it makes me sooo flipping nervous.
-
Biggest cheers from their fans is when they get a free kick!
-
I’m loving this, it’s most entertaining win or lose!
-
The ref is a definite homer, never a foul or booking but every time the Owls fans shout he gives them a free kick
-
The gamesmanship from Wednesday is infuriating.
-
Poor yellow cards given by the ref, getting everything from him
-
Yes, but they are a big club.
-
Gardener having a good game by the sound of it - I wasn't sure about him, but he looks to be a good signing.
-
About time refs were improved with either better training or assistance from a ref in the stands
-
HT 0-0. We finished that very strongly.
-
:silly:

I agree, you end up listening to the crowd to gauge if they’re attacking or not! Would rather be watching
-
Far better than last week
-
Their commentator just said we’ve obviously been playing together for longer!!
-
To a man, Wednesday are on at the officials moaning all the time. They’re falling over at the merest of touches and pulling, having little kicks and niggles, and the officials are just oblivious and allowing the crowd to influence decisions.
How we have had both full backs booked in beyond me.
Wednesday look average. We’ve been the better side I think. You can see it coming together.
I fancy us.
-
A half of 2 halves for me. We were cautious during the first 15 -20 mins or so and seemed a bit disjointed. After that we played with more confidence and certainly finished the half stronger than Wednesday. Inevitably the Wednesday fans began barracking their team after about 15 mins and really don’t seem very happy at all.
-
Very good half from Rovers. Bostock is running the show and the new kid Galbraith looks very confident. Final third might be our downfall here.
They are shite mind.
-
Yet another shocking referee. Ref signals no foul, linesman flags for a foul and ref books rovers player. Go figure!!
-
Far better than last week
Oh yeh, I’m loving the game. Bostock is the man there. We could win this game and I had predicted a loss
-
Improvement being seen as each game passes.
I hope fans get a bit more positive about what RWs trying to do.
More of the same second half please.
-

They complement each other in midfield
-
Yet another shocking referee. Ref signals no foul, linesman flags for a foul and ref books rovers player. Go figure!!
He’s biased alright.
-
Galbaith looks quality. Bags of energy.
-
Yet another shocking referee. Ref signals no foul, linesman flags for a foul and ref books rovers player. Go figure!!
Totally agree. I hope the ref’s enjoying his first game though. Clearly somebody they found earlier in the car park.
-
Even if we lose this we should take away a lot of positives. It’s a huge improvement on last week.
-
our commentry off again
-
Back to Wednesdays commentary
-
It’s a joke, why not just leave the audio playing during half time
-
our commentry off again
Wednesday are in such financial strife the ISDN line is 50p every 5 minutes.
-
Back now 50p in the meter
-
Weds on top right now, Pontus made one great save.
We need to see this out.
-
off again, its a joke
-
Back now 50p in the meter
5 mins up anyone got another 10 bob
-
50p ran out quick ffs
-
Marquis puts Portsmuff ahead, Andy Williams levels it up for Cheltenham.
Both regular scorers at this level.
-
off again, its a joke
For a minute I thought that was a red card
-
I think we need to red card our commentry team,
-
The commentry team I quite like, the service from Iplayer, poor
-
I liked Tommy Tommy ROWE’s contribution right there. Rovers can win this. Great commitment from them all.
-
Big chance for Weds there, should have been 1-0.
-
Bannen starting to have more influence on the game now.
Need to get a foot on the ball.
-
From the Twitter feed it sounds like it’s been all Wednesday since half time.
-
Owls definitely on top now
-
Hahaha you have to listen to the SWFC commentry! book him ref book him, time wasting hahaha
-
Williams is a liability on the ball.
-
Well defended Omar
-
It’s a proper game this, very entertaining. Rovers are on top at the mo!
-
It hasn't been all Wednesday. Rovers look dangerous.
We aint got anyone who can score goals though, which is a major problem if you want to win football games.
-
We’re coming again.
-
We’re coming again.
Ref nearly forgot to give them a free kick there
-
1:0
-
1-0
-
f**k goal Wednesday
-
Kitson
-
Come on rovers get back on it
-
Goal from nothing really, but a good strike.
-
Agreed. Great strike.
-
2-0
-
Damm it
-
Come on lads. We’ve been good considering who is unavailable.
-
Soft goal.
-
Well, thats torn it!
-
end of, 2 nil down and none of our players know how to score
-
Best player on the pitch and no one with in 12 yards of him , giving him time to do what he wants.
-
Shame we move on to Tuesday
-
You can’t palm a cross into the middle of the pen area … suspect goalkeeping.
-
Bullshit.
-
Gutting, been playing well.
Think we need to be more intelligent when pushed, they have played the ref today and nearly every time they are on the ground its a foul.
Also never going to win if we have no attacking threat, almost free headers being headed backwards are ridiculous for a League One player.
-
This not dig we need those two loans with two games next week please allow Richie to get them all good work and it needs to be finished.
-
It’s been the difference if we had some strike power we would have been in front
-
Bogle brings nothing to this team. Move him on and bring someone else in.
-
Might be some unwelcome comments on here tonight.
-
That’s disappointing. Very soft goal as Dahlberg dives to clear a low cross and pushes it straight to a Wednesday player.
A completely undeserved cushion, but I guess you take your chances.
No doubt the knives will be out on here from some but this performance is so much better from Rovers. You can see what Wellens is trying to do.
You look at the players missing too and that’s something to consider.
The officials have been poor. Again. Both full backs booked for nothing. Fantasy. And compromises their games as they can’t go full pelt, especially given how the Wednesday players are going down at the slightest of touches.
RTID
-
If the score stays the same it will bring out the doom mongers out in force
COYR
-
It can't help that we are short of players
-
Accrington winning.
-
Our lack of strength in depth is what is going to cost us this season.
-
I am not going to be one of the ones slagging the team off on the forum tonight (got better things to do) but it is a bit disheartening that already this season is a write off because we simply do not have a strong enough squad.
-
Might give this place a miss until we start to win, nut jobs will be out in force
-
I think Bogle needs paying up.
-
Pen for us
-
I am not going to be one of the ones slagging the team off on the forum tonight (got better things to do) but it is a bit disheartening that already this season is a write off because we simply do not have a strong enough squad.
We will be lucky to stay up with this squad. It's one of the smallest and poorest in the division. Sorry but that's a fact.
-
To be fair the progress is there to see, we were easily the better team in the first half and with a bit more quality up front we could have taken the lead. Given a bit longer we'll only improve more but we do need more players on the bench who can come on and change the game, and that isn't Bogle or Ed Williams.
-
Penno!
-
Pen
-
Every cloud has a silver lining…..not bothered if we lose 5 on the bounce as long as the performances are good and a shape is forming…..
Looking forward to baiting the Melties later………
-
Bogle will miss
-
Bogle hits the post, Close wide from the rebound.
-

It’s not a fact. Idiotic statement.
-
always said bogle was class
-
Knew it f**king useless
-
I don't particularly care about the result. Whatever happens, we've shown improvement even given the further disruption.
We will improve from here.
Bum fluff. Just missed the pen!
-
Well, who the hell allowed Bogle to take that … ggggrrr

Yes it is. Do some research.
-
Why let Bogle take that???
-
Who let Bogle take the pen? Close should be taking them.
-
How the rebound has not gone in there, I do not know.
-
Anderson should have took the penno
-

Have you got a breakdown of all the League One squads Chris?
-
Close missed the rebound from ten yards, commentators said he had an easier chance than Bogle as the keeper was still on the floor.
-
Bogle needs shipping out. He's only there to make up the numbers because we can't get anyone else. It's laughable.
-

Oxford were bottom of League One at the start of November last season. Seasons aren't written off after 2 games.

Hindsight ?

Pointless point, but do you not get sent off for that. Deliberate handball stopping a goal scoring opportunity

What sort of research? What on earth are you talking about? We are two games into a season and you’re making bonkers statements that relegation is somehow inevitable…
All a bit dramatic aren’t we?

But Oxford have been an extremely dangerous attacking team over the last few years. If you can say the same about is, fair dos, but I just can't at the minute.

Some pathetic comments already coming in on game two of the 46 game season.
Let the lunatics have their play time.
-
Well, I’m not gonna be critical of the team after this performance because we played well for the majority of that game.
It’s starting to gel.
-
We don't have a single player in the squad capable of a decent return of goals in a season.
The problems are clear for all to see, but hey, we should be thankful we still have a club. :headbang:

I think results at the moment depend on getting Taylor, Okenabirhie and Hiwula back and potentially adding one or two more to that but I do think we'll struggle based purely on what we've currently got.
-
Wait for it....
-
Far better performance than last Saturday we just need some strikers

Hiwula and Okenabirhie?
-
Any professional football player that cannot hit the ball on target from 12 yards should be donating a weeks wages to charity, because they sure as hell don't deserve any.
-
Just think we have to accept it's going to be a tough old season as we do rebuild. We have had it tough with the injuries
-
2 games and the loan keeper has been badly at fault for 2 goals. Why aren't we playing our own goalkeeper?! He didn't let us down at all last year and made no major mistakes leading to goals. What an earth is the point of having a youth team?
-
Wait for what?
-
Better than last Saturday, better than Tuesday as well. Things are improving slowly.
Onwards and upwards
COYR
-
Although we’ve played ok today, 2 wins in 18 games is the harsh reality. Don’t really care how it comes, but by heck do we need a win. Although looking at fixtures for the next few it could be a very tough ask
-

There has been a long list of great players who have missed pens.

…but he’s not a footballer
-
It’s highly unlikely we will get a win anytime soon until the striker situation is resolved.
-
One thing clearly evident is that Omar Bogle needs to go. I’m sure he tries but he’s woeful.
Just pay him up and release him. Let’s move on.
-

Paying him up uses up money from the budget, so we'd have one less player but a similar budget.

You are the new Michael Gibson, Redandwhite etc.
-
Taylor Okenabirhie and Hiwula won’t be available till October at the best. Richie’s needs to be allowed to get the forward loans if not we going to have a hard two weeks. The squad for today doesn’t change till after the Accrington and Portsmouth game. But that won’t change the front line.

Interesting statement this…”.your not going to slag the team off “ …but let’s say you could…..what would you slag off and who…( .by all accounts we played well )
“This season is already a write off” …… you actually wrote that, now I don’t want to spoil your busy evening but that statement is about 44 games short of a fact!
Now you’ve spoilt my busy night having to work out how 2 defeats by an improving team means we are doomed!! …….
Between me and you….I hope we get relegated n Tuesday night……lol

Will you be presenting your research on L1 squads, scoring potential, and how we’re nailed on for relegation? People are interested.

Erm… what have I claimed other than there are incremental improvements evident.
You are the one making claims.
I have to conclude you’re a WUM and not actually a Rovers supporter.

You’re right though of course… I know nowt about football, now that I live in America. I don’t know w our forwards can’t just catch the ball and go for a touchdown…
Silly bugger :)
