Cheers Al. I've also PM'd them requesting the winner to pop into the Belle Vue bar to receive the shirt after the game.

Thanks again Al.

9 year old daughter going off on school weekend trip tomorrow and I'm off for a second honeymoon/dirty weekend with my good lady (and the wife!! Boom tish!!) for our 10th anniversary before she drops me off at the KMS Sunday. So I'm going to give lifelong the advantage by declaring my preferences early just in case I get over excited and forget to make a prediction! So, here goes......,

LOSE, 45 minutes and 7197

Good luck lifelong, at least I made it to the final, so no disgrace if I lose out now! See you in the BVB after the game to shake your hand whichever way it goes.

It's obviously an advantage going second but I'm going to stick with what I planned to predict...honest!
But it doesn't matter anyway because I'm going to relinquish my claim to the prize if I win and I may not be at the game in any case (illness in the family).
I've got a signed shirt anyway and I think Lincs should give it to his daughter...or his wife for an anniversary present!
Just to keep the sporting interest alive though I'm going for a draw, 18 mins, and 6,732.
Ps. I think I would have won anyway if Dutch hadn't somehow managed to convince me to predict a string of victories which clearly failed miserably to change the outcome of one of the worst seasons I can remember apart from our time with Uncle Ken.

You make a very good point lifelong and you made a noble effort to change our run of horrendous results, albeit in vain! For that reason, and the fact that my wife and daughter would not appreciate anything linked to football; I'd already decided that even if I do win the shirt tomorrow I would like to donate it to the bluebell wood hospice to raise some much needed money for what is the very best of causes. I'll still be at the game and BVB afterwards, and hoping for a win, but if we do lose, as I suspect we will, then I'll hand the shirt straight back to donate to said cause.

Thanks for running this BB and thanks to Al for sorting out the shirt. I hope we have a similar competition next year as it's been great fun in a season lacking fun on the pitch!!

Very noble of you Lincs and it's a great cause.
I've enjoyed our sporting contest more than the season on the pitch and hope to do battle with you again next time.
Have a good summer and let's hope for better fortunes next year.

cheers lifelong, likewise, I look forward to next season, both football-wise (has to be better than this season, doesn't it??!!) and in this competition. Hope your family member gets well soon and see you next season.

Dutch courage Lifelong?

Apologies offered again, and great gestures by both of you and Lincs.

At least you have hopefully learned not to listen to me. By the way my favourite quotation re predictions comes from the Danish wit Robert Storm Pedersen who said: Predictions are very difficult, especially for the future"

P.S. Again thanks to BB for organising this so well

This competition has probably been the highlight of the season.
More entertaining than many of the games.

Thanks BB.
I know from experience in all sorts of areas that there are always people who want to take part - but very few organisers.
If it were not for the likes of yourself most of us would be left twiddling our thumbs.
Thanks once again.

Dutch,
I liked the quote almost as much as I like the amazing stats you sometimes come out with.
But when it comes to mixing crystal ball gazing with trying to affect the outcome of Rovers results I think I may give it a miss in future.
And, no need for apologies it was all part of the fun.

Hi Les. Sounds like a good idea, mate. The only problem is I'm away until the 18th June, so I won't be here to run it, assuming of course that you wanted me to!

If you fancy running it yourself, I'll be pleased to participate, if possible.

BB, I just thought of it as idea, not sure I would be the best person to run it, as I don't know if I will have the time to keep up with the games and awarding the correct points. Maybe the idea could be put out there and see if anyone wants to run with it.

Looks like 51 games in total and if Super6 does not cover the Euros I would consider it in a Super6 style comp .... There I said it !
