I still think it's worth seeing how he does next year..improvement is key and if we don't see that we rightly should be critical. Last night was rubbish and can't carry on.

If he leaves I just hope that the club don’t go down the cheap option and promote for example cops or Andy Butler because of their club associations
We need to get a proper experienced manager

It was awful but there were a lot of young players especially from midfield to attack that showed last night they are not league one standard so next season starts from now to preseason to see what players we get in that are of that standard at least 4 maybe 5

Absolutely nothing to suggest they'd do this other than on an interim basis.

I'd rather he didn't go at present but I wouldn't be crying into my cornflakes tomorrow morning if he left tonight tbh. Not entirely sure what he's done to warrant interest from a Championship club, unless he's mates with a few chairmen.
However it is in the Mail so it's guaranteed to not happen now.

Nothing to do with the Daily Mail. More details here: http://the72.co.uk/101501/doncaster-rovers-manager-will-man-demand-summer/

"Nothing to do with the Daily Mail" then links to an article from a website that is only running the story due to the fact it's in the Daily Mail, as indicated in the very first sentence.

The new owners of Sunderland might want the” Fergie brand “ for future investment, the next manager of Rovers will be from within the club, but an ex player not a current player Russ Wilcox/John Schofield. That is unless Gary Megson gets the job

I don’t want Fergie out I don’t think he’s doing too bad. That being said judging on what he’s done with us who would want him?

If I were being a little bit cynical, I'd hazard a guess that this nonsense has been..ahem..planted ahead of Darren's forthcoming end of term catch up with the Board.

It is, of course, garbage that defies logic. Bigger clubs in the division above falling over themselves to prise a manager away from a smaller club that has just achieved mid-table mediocrity in the division below. As if. Also, DF has no more given youngsters a first team chance than any other manager across the divisions. If our first team was made up of top drawer development players - a bit like the one that Bremner created out of the youth team of the late 1980s - I could understand.

Has the DM journo got the right bloke?

You are forgiven Wiltshire  :P.

I think it'd be a big surprise if a Championship club moved for Fergie. I was surprised when Wolves came in for Saunders but at least we were at the top end of the league when that happened.

Rigo - I've no doubt that what you're describing does happen but I also know for a fact that papers do make up small things like this to fill a space in the paper, a simple case of connecting dots together to create a plausible line or two that no one will bat an eyelash at outside of, well, internet forums of clubs pertaining to the player/manager in question.

He's clearly using his agent to manufacture stories such as this in newspapers as a tactic to manipulate the board into giving him what he wants in the summer.

Oldest trick in the book and very easy to see straight through it.

Not sure how that's "clearly" what's happening at all. Yes, it might be, but it's just as likely the paper is just making random stuff up to fill column inches, something that happens an awful lot.

Where do you think papers 'make stuff up' from - football-wise?

It's agents being busy, giving snippets, and playing poker so their clients get their name in the spotlight, or in this case the board is hoodwinked into thinking 'We need to give him a good budget or we might lose him'.

It's so bloody obvious that it's DF's way of getting his way in terms of the budget.

If this is so then Fergie needs a new agent.  Anyone who thinks the board read the Daily Mail wants their head examining!

Saunders only went to Wolves because he was friendly with their then-owner. It didn't end well!

No one is thinking about the man who owns things, Brammall will make any decisions about money, nobody else.
And if Fergie or anyone else thinks they can hoodwink him into doing something he does not want to has another think coming.

I’d be sorry to hear Fergie leave but I’m majorily concerned that you spend your life reading that right wing, hate filled, misinformed pile of shite. There is counselling available you know? 😀

And what if my counsellor recommends that I swop to reading “left wing, hate filled misinformed piles of shite such as the Daily Mirror, Morning Star or the Socialist Worker”?

Not to derail the thread (who am I kidding) but throwing in the Daily Mirror with the Socialist Worker seems strange to me.

Us shandy-drinking limp-wristed lefties all read the Guardian anyway.

Pretty simple solution - Fergie out, Darren Moore in. Ohhhhhhhh yessir

Yeah great idea, go with someone totally unproven

if it's good enough for Rangers....

If it is Fergies agent playing silly buggers or Darren himself, they want to watch what they are doing, Terry Bramall will have him out of the club if he thinks he is trying a fast one.
A piece of advice would be, don't get hold of a lions tail, it will turn around and bite you.

Where is the evidence that Terry Bramall  is aggressive, or likely to get a manager out of the club?
