U21?  FFS, another speculation with our League status.

Is that finally recognition from the management that Jones isn't good enough?

With it being a loan then one of the outfield players won’t be in the match day squad. Maybe Cartys injury wont be a quick recovery.

Hopefully. I thought we’d stick with Jones and exploit the emergency loan market if/when he got injured tbf

He was ok at Stevenage last year if playing in a solid side. So much for not signing a keeper.

A 20 year old with 7 senior appearances. It seems an unnecessary risk.

That’s SIX loans now in the year we were supposed to have substantial funds and doing things properly.

Anyway, a couple of Stevenage fans in the replies seem to think he’s good.

Judging by this we will be after a GK in the summer.

Grant came out and gave Jones a vote of confidence the other day didn’t he? What has changed?

I thought Jones body language on Tuesday night where he looked pissed off I wondered if we were getting a keeper.

Grants comment
Rovers manager Grant McCann said: “I’m really pleased with this one.

“We felt it was important to get a keeper in given the news Ian Lawlor is probably going to be out for the rest of the season which is really disappointing for us.

“He comes with a real high pedigree, he’s thought highly of at Hull and had a really good loan last season and helped Stevenage with their promotion to League One.

“We feel it’s a really good signing for us that adds competition in that area. We want to keep that department strong.”

Had a loan at Stevenage last season, small sample size but comparatively to Jones this season...
Doesn't leave his line anywhere near as much as Jones
Long passing numbers aren't anywhere near as good as Jones
Save percentage is better
Prevented goals are nearly identical, both underperform their expected goals against.

Don't watch the goals he conceded against Mansfield or Wimbledon.

Why wouldn't he support him publicly, what if he'd gone full Deeney on him , destroyed his confidence then not got a player in?

Substantial funds that got us to a L2 mid-table budget! Just think what we could have had if TB hadn’t agreed to put more in. It does make you wonder what the previous 3 managers had to work with.

How can any keeper leave their line any less than Jones?!

Alan, an ex Rovers player I am friends with met Schofield on holiday in Cornwall last summer and he says they had a long chat.
DS told him that he had “peanuts” available in the playing budget.

This shows what we can really afford
Late payments to Brighton
Not paid a £2000 fine yet
Yet TB says he doesn’t need any one to put extra funds in. He’s happy with mid table budget this year. After under resourcing previous managers.
Injuries haven’t helped this year lack of team consistency game after game. But changing managers won’t help as they’ve all got to work with resources that don’t match the top half of the league table.
Anyway good luck to the lad at least we have three keepers again let’s see if he is any better than Jones and Lawlor.

DS dad told me that he could only sign Sunday league players, this was way before the fans turned on him.

Hopefully because it's only a handful of games it's not a true indication of what we'll eventually see!

Not sure why Schofield era is being brought into question. We know all this and it was before brammal’s statement in the summer

It’s pretty much what RW was telling us, during his short tenure. The root to all our problems?

Makes you think, doesn’t it?

And still, Mr Bramall insists he doesn’t need anyone else on board.

Yet in the MTO meeting we only have a mid table budget straight from TBs mouth after extra funds were put in

Brammalls statement of significant funds is b*llocks and more wind and piss.
Yes he's put more funds in but I wouldn't say significant.
Actually, it probably is significant compared to what Wellens and Schofield had.
