Beady eye

Anyone got their album? On my third listen and have to admit I'm quite pleasantly surprised, it's alright.

Obviously never be as good as oasis but theres that much shite out there these could have a good few years.

Fair play to Liam.

They sound like Frank Sidebottom playing Oasis B sides.

I knew the album was out soon, but I didn't realise it was out now!

Bring the light is a very good effort for a debut single from the band IMO, and The Roller is a descent effort too tbh. Liam has done very well without Noel I think, and I think any genuine Oasis fans (like myself) would be more than happy to spend £7.99 on the album!

Im still hoping and praying for Oasis to do a Take That though!

Me too. Im not claiming it to be a world beater, but its alright.

Liam could have easily drifted away into the background and always been in Noels shadow but he has got on with things and its a good effort.

It will definatly attract critics (as Oasis did) but its a good listen IMO and some people love to knock the Gallaghers whatever they do.

Hope they do a few more gigs as id be interested in going.

(In my humble opinion etc)

Sounds like Oasis minus the talented one knocking out sub-standard covers of John Lennon B-sides.

They (Oasis/Beady Eye) haven't progressed or developed during their entire career. Time to change the record.

When did Liam Gallagher decide he wanted to sound like Gilbert o Sullivan (listen to Millionaire).

The mans stuck in an ancient timewarp and hasnt got an original idea in his entire body.

Its just what I was expecting to be honest..  The Roller sounds like Instant Karma and the rest is....below average.

When Oasis came out they symbolised proper Rock N Roll and had the songs to back it up.  From the 2nd album onwards they went downhill, churning out the same Oasis paint by numbers.  A shame really.

Unfortunately for B.E. Liams vocals are so distinctive that you cant get away from the obvious comparisons, especialy as they havent moved on musically.

4/10

The artcile was about a modern public vote on a frontman, not the quality of the songs he was singing

Like I said, the opinion isnt about the music, its about the frontman.

But music would be boring if everyone thought the same.  However, I wish I could wipe clear the minds of 98% of those out in Donny centre on a saturday night as they clearly think Scooter are the new beatles.

ps whats with the smurf comeback in all the dance tunes nowadays:)
