Former Doncaster Rovers winger Stuart Elliott has announced that he has retired from playing football. He is currently playing on loan at Stirling Albion from SPL club Hamilton Academical, but a statement on the Accies' website said: \"The club have this morning released Stuart Elliott by mutual agreement. Northern Irish internationalist Stuart was signed from Doncaster Rovers in January and made 7 appearances last season before having a loan spell at Stirling. He had been injured pre-season and hadn't figured, but is now fit. The club wish him all the best for the future.\"
Elliott is a \"born again Christian\", and the Belfast Telegraph has reported that he has quit football to devote his life to God.

It's a shame really. Would have been a good player for us if it wasn't for his asthma.

Silly, silly move. Everyone knows that God doesn't pay well. Then again, he's just like any other boss, never seen, always gets others to do the work for them and pays them in peanuts (or bread and wine if ya lucky).
-
I wonder if he's be quitting for God if he was still on 5 grand a week at Hull.

God and Football is very similar - you only work one day a week!
:)

I thought he had retired from playing ten minutes after joining us.lol

If he's retired to devote his life to God does this mean that he's signing for Perth Glory?
