The next few hours
« on August 09, 2018, 09:31:14 am by selby »
I will be happy for us to hear nothing at all about our club in the transfer window, especially goings out ( Marquis ). I could handle a couple of fringe players if we get replacements in probably until January.

We won’t let Marquis go on the last day.
If we do then it’s a shambles

Rumour on Twitter is that it’s Whiteman who is injured and that we are about to sign Adam Hammill

I thought Hamill was a winger, I maybe wrong though.

Unless LM comes in and he is just adding the numbers.

I'm dreading LM in a 3 though, far far too slow for a 3

It depends
If the 3 play narrow then its perfect for him as he can just sit in the middle and let the other two get about the pitch.
4-4-2 he’d struggle in the middle of the park but I think as a 3 it would suit him

More odd is the shambles, it's just well over the top.

If we sell to a decent offer it just means we are a mid league one club selling for a decent offer. Everyone has their price and everyone is replaceable.

I think Marquis is great but at some point I would expect him to go and it won't be a shambles if a decent price is received.

No issue with all that
But regardless of who we are and what offer we receive we should be declining it on deadline day.
Would leave us no time to replace him, other than another loan signing.
Baldwin has said we don’t need to sell him so to sell him on deadline day would be a shambles

Let’s hope his contacts let him bring in a good big strong striker to support the quality

Shambles, up to you, he could get injured for 4 months with his next kick as we are all wonderin if it is him now. A good price is good business and that is football, players come and go.

To say if we sell Marquis it is a shambles you may as well say football is a shambles.

It happens.

The Hamill link has been proved to be a fake rumour account on twitter...

If it is Whiteman who is injured then I guess we are going to see how good young Kane is sooner rather than later..If he is just out for 4 weeks then I would risk it without signing a loaner just yet,if it's longer then we will have too..Kane is a young kid who hasn't played at this level,it would be unfair to expect him to play every game and burn him out..

Of course it could be somebody completely different, maybe find out at todays press conference..

Didn’t say if we sell Marquis it’s a shambles, if we sell him leaving us no time to replace him then yes it’s a shambles

It's a shambles if we do but it happens even top premiership teams get done on deadline day if we have a stupid offer come in (and i mean stupid) i can kind of accept it 5m+ would set us up for the next few seasons.

I'm expecting he'll stay and i'll be happy when the window closes

on Hammill i don't see the benefit to signing him admittedly he's always been decent and very good at this level but we've a lot of players in that area if we have funds to sign anyone it should be a out and out striker

I think this is a classic example of people now getting hyper-sensitive about perceived criticism of the club / the board.

We’re football supporters and it’s what goes on on the pitch that should primarily concern us. Dickos has pointed out that to lose our main striker without time to replace him would be shambolic. I wouldn’t argue with that. From a footballing perspective it would leave us screwed. That’s not jumping up and down about the board or the budget, it’s just something that would affect our chances of winning games terribly and from a playing perspective it would be shambolic. I don’t get why anyone would disagree with that.

Anyway it’s all completely hypothetical so let’s hope none of it happens.

No incomings today GM doesn’t need cover for Ali Crawford injury he says.
#drfc boss Grant McCann says Ali Crawford is out of action with a knee injury. It’s not serious enough for him to want cover. No plans to make additions.
Let’s hope it’s not as serious as his last knee injury.

it sounds like he didn't want to say too much about who was injured until they knew the full extent of it.

I wasn't jumping on anyone I'm just finding the term shambolic well over the top.

Disappointing yes of course but shambolic no.

We would have a full loan window.

It's just over the top That's all, if he said something I agree with I'd say I agree.

Everything as to be put over as end of the world stuff when of course it wouldn't be.
