It's my Auntie Helen's hairdresser's and I was an extra in a couple of 'em, a brief Hollywood career which in the intermediate 30-odd years has taken something of a dive.

Anyway, to the question.  Is it wander?  (Apologies for automatic text correction.)

Strictly speaking he was still George Porter when he won the Nobel in 1967 which was your original question.
He wasn't Knighted until 1972 and latterly his title was Baron Porter of Luddenham, having received his life peerage in 1990  :P

So I was led to believe but not strictly true. The flushing toilet was invented by John Harrington in 1596.:P
But T. Crapper did invent the 'ballcock'
So my mate 'Wiki' tells me anyway

hence the saying iam going for a crap.

the said flushing bog was installed into a doncaster hotel after queen victoria
was upset about the problems in london with basically shit been thrown onto
its streets.

mr crapper came up with the flushing toilet system and it was installed into a doncaster
hotel,to which the hotel owner had the idea to charge the public a penny to use it

Correct. But there are actually two. He's one of them. The other has the distinction of not claiming a £9M Lottery Jackpot prize in 2005. It's the largest ever unclaimed Lotto win.
The six winning numbers were 3, 12, 17, 36, 44 and 49 and the ticket was bought just outside Donny.

Assuming I'm correct, which I think I am,....... on the 7th May 1971 Doncaster's top group of the time (in my opinion) played their final gig at Doncaster Racecourse as the opening act for glam rockers The Sweet, Name the group.

,,,Effin Hell - no thats not my guess - its just an A1 question.

I was just starting to knock about the Pubs and Clubs at that stage but cant come up with a name that I am happy with

I was a bit (a lot) of a Bitter Suite fan but of course they are not a Donny Band and did not finish for many more years.

Wait .... Wait ... while writing I have a Group in mind .... was the drummer from Stainforth ? Maxfield or Maxwell ... even if YES I will still struggle to get their name but I did remember seeing them.    2 word name ?
