Bruce Woodcock.

There's a good obituary (if there is such a thing) here:

Which band had a minor hit (banned by the BBC if I remember right) called \"Rub it In\"

at least one of the original band and probably more were Donny lads.

and if you come up with that you either went to Edlo Comp in the mid 70'S or were a band member :)

OK. I'll ask one:

Which internationally renowned mega, mega mega star rock guitarist and singer has both a daughter who has always lived and now works in Doncaster and often visits the town? CLue: he's been around a long long while now - and yes. He REALLY is that famous. And she is a hair dresser.

Catweazel used to live next door to my auntie in the flats close to Donny town centre in the late 70's and early 80's, when the wrestling was big time on the World of sport. He was a really nice bloke who always took time to talk.
I have really enjoyed reading this, didn't realise Donny had so many famous people and things happen.

Correct. Of the other two, one is extremely obscure (I only discovered that he played first-class cricket by chance) but the other \"posts\" on here from time to time.

Who wrote this in his diary after one of his regular visits to Doncaster?

'The approach to Doncaster is flat and uninspiring but the pleasant Market town is lively and resplendent with fine hostelries.'
The above quite might not be verbatim as it's many years since I read it.

Which 19th century Author was dismayed when he discovered that a Local Doncaster Landowner had acquired all of the Bones from the dead Soldiers and horses killed at the Napoleonic battles of Leipzig, Austerlitz, and Waterloo, had them shipped to Hull in sacks where they were ground to powder in a mill and then had them ploughed into the land as fertilizer.
