Brooks Beast

THE VERY BEST!

http://www.runandbecome.com/getattachment/Shop-Online/Mens-Running-Shoes/Road/Motion-Control/Brooks-Beast/110122_606_o.jpg

This is the 2013 model - would love to find the original version again!

I've run some serious miles at serious pace over the years as a young man with these bad boys!

Those look like some serious running shoes but I'm. Not sure they are the ideal footwear from the pub to the Keepmoat.

I used to go round town in converse pumps back in me day.

I had two Pairs, one white other purple.

So i would wear a white one on me left peg and a purple one on me right peg.

must have looked a reet t**t ( pregnant goldfish) thinking about it Now

I remember when they couldn't get rid of them on market stalls for £1:50. Now kids are paying big money for them. Mad world.

on the basis of this thread I looked for my favorite all time running trainers and couldn't believe it when I found Hi Tec  still made them, so I've ordered them   :)   I'm sure they are virtually no more expensive than I paid in 1980ish.
I used them for road running, then just as shoes for about 10 years altogether   Hope  they are as good as my memory thinks they are   and no I'm not starting running again

I was getting mine from John Lewis as they stock them, but not now too old to be seen in running shoes!

My trainer collection at the moment multiples of each:
Converse Hi-Tops, Vans slip ons, Adidas Superstars & Nike Air Max 95

Plus I managed to find white Adidas Campus that I'd not worn since the 90's in Selfridges Brum.

I remember there was a fad for Hi Tec Squash at our school for a while. I think it must've been a reaction against expensive adidas and nikes.

I can't find a pic of the old ones, the new flavour look alright actually.

Adidas Jeans are my all time favs from back in the day. Came in blue or red, but red was for the proper hardcore dressers.

They've re-released a few versions since that are similarish, but not quite the same.

Other things/ items that spring to mind from a similar era...

ZX 600's

Adidas Colorado's. Never owned one, but everyone else seemed to.

Head Monte Carlo (slung over one shoulder of course).

Ohh, and VW's minus their grill badge.

Ahh. Them wer t'days.

They are doing a darker all leather pair this autumn if they are a bit bright  cracking trainers though ive got a pair of the red orange ones

Nah, not for me Oslo, too nesh.

I think for me and a lot of my mates, we were all into football, and we saw the whole dressers thing as a cool Northern sub-culture. So we got into the clothes, wore the hair cuts and all that.

Now I'm older, I still like quality clothes but I have to do what I can for the money.

Bloody hell, I chucked one of those Bennetton tops away last year when I moved house.  To be fair, it had been my decorating top for the past dozen years or so.  Thats now a navy Lacoste polo.

There was a bit of bravado but we weren't looking for anything so we never really had to deal with anything. I suppose we were quite young, mid teens. We were just, copying older lads who were into it. As we got older acid house came along and the vibe changed.

It was like a fashion thing, lots of kids at school were wearing a red and blue berghaus and slinging a red and blue head bag over their shoulder.

They are doing something like a contemporary version of that now from very trendy Engineered Garments of New York. Not for me.

Can I have them back now please? You've had them along enough!

These are yours

I saw these in the Adidas shop at York Designer Outlet on Saturday. A steal at a mere £32.
