Forrester compensation?
« on August 01, 2013, 05:23:38 pm by mrfrostsdad »
Apologies if I've missed this somewhere else.
Has the compensation figure for Forrester been agreed yet? If so, do we know how much it is?

Dunno, although as far as I know we can sign him and he can play (whilst fit) even if the Tribunal hasn't confirmed the fee yet?

Let's hope not, but I would assume that it's also part of the player budget as well... So mebbe there might be more in the kitty depending on how much we have to pay?

Remains to be seen if he is worth it - I will be very happy if he is..

500K is a bit excessive if correct he was only there for two years and was developed by villa who released him and Watford where he started. In my opinion Brentford should get f**k all for him

When I told my then boss- a Wolves fan- about the compo that Bury got from us for Bennett he was livid. He said (rightly) that Wolves had had him since he was practically in nappies and Bury had had him for one season.

Still, I suppose if we eventually sell Husband for big bucks, Weeds won't get a penny. Every cloud...

The tribunal hasnt happened, so why should anyone think it would be £500k?

Hang on, if I lick my finger, stick it in the air and think of a number..... the compo will be £48.32, a 2 for 1 voucher at Nandos and half-eaten strawberry mivvi

If anyone believes we paid that amount of compensation, they must live in cloud cuckoo land.

I don't know what they would settle for. I imagine it is in the 100k's.

The question was how do you know it has gone to a tribunal?

Because thats what happens when 2 clubs cant agree the price for an out of contract player who is under 23.

If he was over 23 he would just join us on a free (Bosman) just like Tommy Spurr joins Blackburn.  The payment is supposed to represent compensation for his development years.

i would think £150k is more realistic, i mean jesus, Brentford training ground has no cross bars, the training cant be that expensive

Kyle Bennett went to tribunal and we ended up paying (up to) £200k plus a % of future sell on profits.

The deal is going to a tribunal of which a date hasn't been decided. Specualtion on amount owed to Brentford is pointless as the figure is decided by tribunal of which nothing is known before hand and yes as he has signed for us, he can play....if fit right up until the tribunal date and after.

Doesn't mean it's true, I'm sure the club will confirm it theirselves.  I mean there's been a lot on this and other forums recently of which some has been utterly laughable....

Its impossible to say that a tribunal have believed to have set a fee when the tribunal itself has not even sat yet. Dont believe anything that is written and certainly nothing that is tweeted. Compensation is defined by an independant panel on the value of the player including training him over his career at brentford through the youth set up and into the first team. No-one can put an estimate on it and certainly not the 'expert' journalists of the free press.

I remember at the time, SO'D stating that the amount decided by tribunal was much higher than they had expected.

Oggy,
He doesn't say a tribunal has set the fee. He says there won't be a tribunal as compensation has been agreed.
500k? Can't be true can it?

Either way, he's our player now, and when recovered from injury could be a great signing for us :)
