Made his debut for Spurs against Lazio tonight.

Another one that got away.

Never got a touch of the ball or even got his shirt dirty, nice jog to the centre circle and back though

An all-action debut from him. Showed us what we're missing. ;)

"One that got away." Really? For all the hype about him, how much of an impact did he actually have here? Couldn't get in the team until the end of 2010/11 and didn't pull up any trees until we played Barnsley away. Had a good game at Brighton and then got injured and failed to make his mark when he returned. Not to mention that he couldn't get in the Millwall squad either when he left us.

Still makes me laugh that certain folk were calling for us to build the team around him last year when he joined on a 6 month loan. Then the same people weren't happy that we were building the team around the likes of Diouf because it was too short termist.

Saunders sent him back to Spurs because he thought he wasn't good enough for us. Spurs then loaned him to Millwall, who beat us twice and stayed up.

Just shows what Saunders knows about certain players.

Wrong again! spurs recalled him because he was n`t getting any game time

And he couldn't get in Millwall's team either. Kenny Jackett, what a plonker.

And why was he not getting any game time?

Probably the same reason that he only played 5 times for Millwall in a 6 month loan spell

Don't forget that he spent almost the entire season benchwarming under O'Driscoll in 2010/11. We signed him before the first home game of the season against Bristol City - a game in which he was in the starting XI. He only started one more game before returning to Spurs (injured, surprise surprise) in November. He then returned in January and only started 3 games between then and the end of the season. That's 7 months he was here under O'Driscoll that season, and he only started 5 games...shows what SOD knows about certain players, eh?

I don't think Saunders did send him back either. I think Mason wanted to go back because he wasn't straight back in the team after his injury. I didn't think he was THAT good anyway, and I don't think he'll ever break into Tottenham's team. He spent most of his time here injured or sat on the bench, under SOD and Saunders.

Apparently he was on a decent wedge of money with us as well.

TBF he probably would be a very good player if his arms and legs weren't made of twiglets.

According to a then member of the Rovers "fitness" team, he was crocked when he came to us from Spurs and miles away from being match-fit.

In all fairness to the lad I think he is very technically gifted and will make a very good pro for someone although I don't think it will be for Spurs

I rated Mason, and would've liked to have seen him play a bit more of a part last year.

However, he wouldn't have made a shred of difference to that side last season.

How would this make him a very good player? look at Modric, it's not all about physique

Katesby..... perhaps you should have said "Luca at Modric" and got a one liner in at the same time. Should never miss an opportunity on this forum. ;)

Modric's arms or legs aren't made of twiglets. If they were someone would have invaded the pitch and eaten them by now. Maybe the Spurs fans were getting suspicious so he had to move to Spain? Ryan won't get away with for as long, for sure.

EDIT: And yes RnO, very good!
