Crewe Away
« on May 03, 2024, 09:41:43 am by philsky »
"Crewe Alexandra manager Lee Bell is urging his supporters to arrive early for the play off semi-final first leg at home to Doncaster Rovers.

A crowd of around 8,000 are expected to be at the Mornflake Stadium.

Bell says the home fans have a big part to play on Monday night "

2,000 spare then - less segregation - say 1,400

Crewe fans are saying they expect to sell less than they did for the league fixture with Disney FC

If that’s the case it’s a huge own goal for Crewe for lost revenue .

Revenue distribution is different for play off games.

All pooled and shared, with the EFL also taking a slice.
Does the.pooling also include the final as well as the 4 playoff games?

I’ve read quite a few times on here that we’ve been denied goals that were clearly onside or conceded goals that were clearly offside so this should help with that…

It’s a 50/50 split in the semis. 50% goes into the pool, that is lg2 clubs and the other 50% goes into the pool that includes the 4 semi final clubs.

The final is a 50/50 split but this time 50% goes into the pool but the other 50% is shared by just the 2 teams in the final.

No club gets tv revenues.

Feels slightly odd.

Sounds like clubs don't get a chance to make any decent money

Won’t be a million pound game I imagine but who does get the TV revenue? Very little football on that time of year so figures must be half decent even for League Two.

Not sure how TV revenue’s work SM.
Please enlighten as I always thought if a league or cup (FA / League) game was televised then the participants of that game got a payment.
Did we (and Everton) get a payment for the cup game as that was on TV?
If we had a televised leagues match would the club earn from TV?
If so then why don’t the two successful teams who reach a final  of a playoff get money divided?
Totally bizarre.

Pretty sure the EFL will say that money is already given to clubs in consolidation payments every season so you are getting some benefit of it when you don’t get into the playoffs.

None of that applies.

You have to view the playoffs as a competition within a competition, different rules.
