Thought we started ok. Dickov's plan b is as disjointed as anything I've seen.

I'll admit that wasn't great tonight either but the Sunday league approach of "we need a goal, let's put an extra striker on" without seemingly making any adjustment to our approach really irks me.

PD has been pulling that stunt since he arrived. I remember it in the first month or so of his first season against Leeds in the Cup.

Overload the team with strikers and hope for the best.

Unfortunately the last four words of the previous sentence seem to be quite a good summary of Dickov's managerial approach as a whole.

PLan A recently is play 2 up front and lump it forward, plan B is play 4 up front a lump it forward. Shocking lack of tactical nuance from PD

That is another point. Aside from the totally gutless display last night, what on earth were we thinking lumping the ball upfront every single time we had possession? They had a backline of giants! Arguably our two most talented players were on the wing and we just punt it upfield? Absolutely beggars belief.

I recall loads of occasions when moaners around me in the south stand complained when we set up 4-1-4-1 saying that we were negative for playing one up front at home(without really understanding how the team would play).

The plan won't have been to lump it. That's a fact. If you think it was you must have not watched us much this season. Lumping it comes as a result of players having no options when they are on the ball or the lack of confidence or ability to play. Bradford are a strong well organised unit without the ball and we were not good enough to play football though them. You can't judge PD without knowing what he asked the players to do.

But we were good enough. Even in parts of second half when we got ball on floor, especially on our right side, we were going through them and putting good balls into box.

Problem was that moment pressure was applied on us, we lost the plot, conceded poor goals and then shat ourselves and just lumped ball up front.

Comes round to fundamental point. Players may or may not be good enough. What they definitely do not have though is tough enough mindset to focus on a plan and not lose the plot the moment the opposition turn the screw.

The plan wasn't to lump it forward? Sorry but it looked quite deliberate to me, nothing to do with players being pressured in possession. In the second half for sure anyway.

I get that same sense of when a manager can't go much further with the club, as we all regularly sense with managers at other teams, he seems to have run out of ideas.
